【PCauto】Geely Galaxy unveiled the first official images of its inaugural plug-in hybrid SUV, the M7 PHEV, on February 2, 2026. Positioned as a mid-size family SUV, the new model is slated for launch in the first half of 2026.
As a key model in the Geely Galaxy M series targeting the family market, the M7 boasts significant highlights across several domains: exterior and interior design, intelligent features, powertrain, and range.
As seen in the official images, the Galaxy M7's exterior design draws significant inspiration from the flagship Galaxy M9. The front fascia features a closed grille, complemented by segmented through-type daytime running lights. This combination lends the vehicle a high-tech appearance and strong visual identity, even at a standstill.

The side profile features flowing lines, while a floating roof design with blacked-out roof panels enhances the sporty aesthetic. At the rear, through-type tail lights echo the design of the front daytime running lights, creating a cohesive visual theme.
The new car measures 4,770 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm.
Compared to the Galaxy L7, the M7 enjoys a slightly longer wheelbase (by 60 mm), contributing to more generous interior space.
Inside, the Galaxy M7 shows a marked uplift in perceived quality and attention to detail. A blend of two-tone soft-touch materials and wood-grain accents on the center console creates a cabin atmosphere that is both warm and refined.
The central control area retains a sensible number of physical buttons—a design choice that caters to users who prefer tactile controls over a fully touchscreen interface.

The Galaxy M7 is equipped with the Flyme Auto 2.0 intelligent cockpit system, which supports features such as smartphone connectivity. It boasts a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, a full LCD instrument cluster, and a Head-Up Display (HUD), forming a comprehensive digital interface. Additional front-row amenities include wireless charging and ambient lighting.

On the intelligent driving front, high-end variants will be equipped with the "Qianli Haohan H3" system, which includes features like Highway Navigation Guided Pilot (NOA) and automated parking. This system prioritizes practicality over all-scenario urban capability, focusing instead on high-usage situations like highway driving and parking—a pragmatic approach to intelligent driving.
Regarding chassis dynamics, Geely has announced an official moose test (elk test) result of 81 km/h. This score reflects a fundamentally stable chassis in extreme avoidance maneuvers. For a family SUV, this indicates competent and reassuringly conservative tuning.
The core selling point of the Galaxy M7 lies in its plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is powered by a dedicated 1.5L hybrid engine producing 82 kW of maximum power. Buyers can choose between two Lithium Iron Phosphate “Gold Brick” battery packs: 18.4 kWh or 29.8 kWh, sourced from suppliers such as Yaoning New Energy and Times Changan.
Under the CLTC testing cycle, the Galaxy M7 achieves a pure electric range of 225 km and a combined range of up to 1,730 km. Its fuel consumption in charge-sustaining mode is rated at 3.35 L/100 km. In the current plug-in hybrid SUV segment, its 225 km pure electric range stands significantly above most competitors. This translates to reduced reliance on the engine for typical urban commutes.

Pricing details are yet to be officially confirmed. However, market expectations place the Galaxy M7 in the range of 101,800 to 129,800 CNY (approximately MYR 58,000 to 74,000). If positioned within this bracket, it would directly rival mainstream PHEV SUVs like the BYD Song Pro DM-i and the Haval Xiaolong MAX.
