This year, IM vehicles began to step out of the Chinese market and look to the world, followed by frequent launches of new cars. Not long after the highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7 went on sale, its rival, IM L6, officially opened for pre-sales. It is not difficult for us to see how fierce the competition is in the new energy sector in China's auto market. We have reported on the launch of the Xiaomi SU7 before. Since the L6 is a competing model, let's also learn about this car.

IM L6, which is positioned as a mid-size car, officially opened for pre-sale on April 8. The official price range is from 230,000 to 330,000 RMB (about 1,163,000-1,669,000 Thai baht). The new car will launch 3 sub-models. By looking at the pre-sale price, the price of the IM L6 is higher than that of the Xiaomi SU7.

Main Highlights of IM L6

To begin with, the 133-degree solid-state battery can provide a range of over 1000 kilometers, and its rated charging power has also reached 400kW, so there is no need to worry about its recharging time. In terms of power, the acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 2.74s, and the maximum speed is 268km/h.

Second, the Agile Lizard digital chassis can integrate advanced chassis hardware such as rear-wheel steering, intelligent electronic shock absorbers, air suspension, and electric drive, and can achieve the "crab mode" where the front and rear wheels turn in the same direction at low speeds.

Design Analysis of IM L6 Exterior and Interior

IM L6 is positioned as a medium-size pure electric sedan. Its body line design is very smooth, and the use of a large number of softened line designs will also make the shape of this car more easily accepted by the majority of consumers.

The closed air intake grille with a C-shaped diversion trench makes the entire front face look more aggressive. The underneath license plate frame hides a black air intake grille, which makes the entire car look more sporty.

The shape of the headlights is similar to the previous "tear eye headlights", but lacks the digital projection headlights previously on the L7.

This car also has horns on its forehead, but the function is changed from the previous L7's Carlog to laser radar, and this car's Carlog is achieved by a 360-degree camera of the whole car.

The side design uses the very popular fastback design, and the overall proportion is very well controlled.

The wheels adopt a five-petal style hub, also use a dual-color design. With tire sizes of 245/40 R20 at the front and 275/35 R20 at the back, both of the front and back tires belong to the Pirelli P ZERO series.

The dimensions of the IM L6 are 4931/1960/1474mm with a wheelbase of 2950mm.

Regarding the tail design, it is the highlight of the entire vehicle design. It looks fantastic from a 45-degree angle, with a wide shoulder line supporting the rear wheel arch, making the vehicle look strong and aggressive.

The fastback design offers not only super high looks but also a very useful liftgate. The large opening makes it very friendly for placing large luggage.

The overall interior design style continues the traditional design of IM cars. The most eye-catching still is that long screen, but compared to other models, this screen cannot drop by half. Also, this screen uses the currently most powerful Qualcomm 8295 processor, as well as the Unity rendering engine and OMR tracking rendering model, which make the game screen more realistic.

The lower control screen is responsible for functions such as air conditioning adjustment and seat function adjustment.

The actual filmed model is still equipped with a semi-frame steering wheel, the grip feeling is consistent with the previous models, and the three-nine position is thicker. If you do not like the semi-frame steering wheel, there are also full-frame steering wheels for selection.

The seat also uses the POPO SOFA cloud sensing seat. Its design inspiration comes from the Italian home design concept, with a 20mm zero-pressure sponge layer. The rear row cushion is 1342mm wide and supports 6-level rear row backrest adjustment, which can bring passengers a more comfortable driving experience.

The most interesting part is this expansion dock. The whole car has five magnetic absorption points, which can expand small table boards, reading lights, magnetic fragrances, makeup mirrors, and so on.

There is also a small detail in the interior design that is very interesting, which is that the rearview mirror inside the car can be retracted to form a broader view in front.

Powerwise, the IM comes in two versions, with a maximum power of 250kW for the single-motor version and 579kW for the dual-motor version.

For smart driving, the IM L6 is equipped with a roof-mounted lidar and will use the Nvidia Orin X driving assistance chip, which has a computing power of 254TOPS and can operate in urban NOA. The IM AD high-speed NOA has now been launched nationwide, and urban NOA has also pioneered in Shanghai's main urban area and is expected to quickly expand nationwide this year.

As for the chassis configuration, the IM L6 is full of sincerity. The configuration of rear-wheel steering + CDC + air suspension is drool-worthy. It's really hard to find a comparable model in the same price range.
