[PCauto] On January 30th, Suzuki Japan opened reservations for the local Jimny Nomade. In just four days, the number of orders for the Jimny Nomade reached 50,000, far exceeding Suzuki's expectations.

However, the Suzuki factory can only produce 1,200 units of the Jimny Nomade per month, meaning consumers may have to wait up to 3.5 years to receive their vehicles.
As a result, Suzuki had to suspend reservations for the Jimny Nomade and issued an official notice on its website, stating that they cannot provide an accurate time for reopening orders. According to the original plan, the first deliveries of the Jimny Nomade were set to begin in April.

The five-door version of the Jimny Nomade is based on the three-door version. The vehicle dimensions are 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width, and 1,720mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,590mm. The car weighs 1,195kg, which is 100kg more than the three-door version due to the extended body.

The extra length has translated into more interior space. The Jimny Nomade adopts a 2+2 four-seat layout, with a 47% increase in rear legroom. The rear seats are also more spacious, providing better comfort for family trips and meeting the demands for seating space and comfort.

In terms of off-road performance, the Jimny Nomade maintains the off-road advantages of the three-door version. The new ladder-frame structure enhances the vehicle's body rigidity, and the front and rear axles use a three-link rigid suspension. The approach angle is 36 degrees, the departure angle is 47 degrees, and the longitudinal ramp angle is adjusted to 25 degrees due to the increased wheelbase. The ground clearance remains 210mm. Combined with the AllGrip Pro four-wheel-drive system and front, center, and rear differential locks, the vehicle retains the off-road capability of the three-door version, even on challenging terrain.

As for the engine, the Jimny Nomade is powered by the K15B 1.5L VVT-i four-cylinder engine, which delivers 100 horsepower and 130Nm of maximum torque. It is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD system with differential locks, providing stable power under various driving conditions.

In addition to Suzuki's Japanese domestic factory, Suzuki's plant in Gurugram, India, is also responsible for producing the Jimny Nomade, primarily for export to Southeast Asia, South Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

However, due to the surge in orders from the Japanese market, Suzuki may prioritize supplying the domestic market. This could result in fewer vehicles allocated for Malaysian consumers, leading to longer waiting periods for delivery.
