【PCauto】The Mitsubishi Xforce is positioned as a B-segment SUV. After its launch in the Thai and Indonesian markets, the Xforce has garnered significant attention with its practical product design. It has now been confirmed for launch in the Malaysian market in the first quarter of 2026.
Judging from its dimensions, the Xforce's design evidently balances urban agility with off-road capability. With a length of 4,390 mm and a width of 1,810 mm, the Xforce remains maneuverable even when parking on crowded streets.

The 2,650 mm wheelbase ensures ample legroom for rear passengers, while its 1,660 mm height contributes to generous headroom.
Most noteworthy is the Xforce's 222 mm ground clearance, which offers a significant advantage within its segment. Whether facing urban flooded roads or unpaved suburban paths, it ensures a more confident traversing experience.

The Xforce expected to launch in Malaysia will likely retain the regional-market 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine configuration. This powertrain delivers 105 horsepower (hp) and 141 N·m of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). For users primarily focused on daily commuting, this powertrain ensures smooth urban driving while keeping maintenance costs under control.

Currently, the 1.6-liter HEV variant available in the Thai market employs an Atkinson-cycle engine (4A92). The engine alone generates 95 horsepower (hp) and 134 N·m of torque, complemented by an electric motor that contributes 116 hp and 255 N·m, resulting in a total system output of 85 kW (approximately 116 hp). Although the exact specifications of the Malaysian HEV variant remain unconfirmed, it may adopt the same 1.6-liter hybrid system.

In terms of equipment, the Malaysian-spec Xforce is anticipated to be more comprehensively appointed than the versions offered in Thailand and Indonesia. Active safety systems are anticipated to include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist (BSW/LCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Automatic High Beam (AHB). Mainstream features such as a 360-degree camera system are also likely to be included.

As the first quarter of 2026 draws nearer, the Mitsubishi Xforce's performance in the Malaysian market is highly anticipated. Its success in winning over consumers will ultimately hinge on its final specifications and launch pricing strategy. For users seeking a dependable daily commuter with occasional off-road capability, the Xforce could present an ideal choice.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
