The complete specifications of the all-new Nissan Serena C28 have been released.
The new model is equipped with the second-generation e-Power hybrid system.
It will launch in the Malaysian market in the first quarter of 2026.
[PCauto] The complete specifications of the sixth-generation C28 Nissan Serena e-Power have been officially announced.
This Nissan family MPV is upgraded with the second-generation e-Power hybrid system and adopts a brand-new design style. Compared to the C27, its recognition has been greatly enhanced, directly targeting the mid-to-high-end MPV market in Malaysia.
The new generation Serena will adopt the latest V-Motion Shield design style
The C28 Serena e-Power adopts Nissan's latest V-Motion Shield design style, with its iconic V-shaped chrome trim integrated with the headlight assembly.
And the front bumper is also equipped with a concealed air vent, which effectively reduces vehicle body sway during high-speed driving, making it very suitable for Malaysia's highway-dominated travel scenarios.

In addition to the refreshed front design, the rear of the vehicle has also been significantly upgraded. It retains the classic double-layer tailgate design while being updated with a through-type LED lighting group, improving nighttime visibility.
As for the car paint options that consumers care about, the C28 body offers four colors, including a single color Diamond Black, and three dual-tone versions: Turquoise Blue, Brilliant White, and Dark Metal Grey.
The new generation Serena will offer a more flexible 13-seat switching mode
Sitting in the car, the 2-2-3 seven-seat layout is the core highlight, paired with 13 flexible seat combinations that can be switched according to different purposes. For example, folding down the third row to expand storage space for family trips or adjusting the second-row seats for business receptions.
All adjustments are aimed at ensuring a comfortable ride environment.

Looking at the third row, the new car is equipped with a sliding door switch and a USB-C charging port. Paired with the power sliding door and step, it is very convenient for the elderly and children to get in and out of the car without any effort.
The new generation Serena will feature the second-generation e-Power series hybrid system
After talking about the interior and exterior design, let's discuss the powertrain, which everyone is most concerned about.
The C28 Serena is equipped with the second-generation e-Power series hybrid system. The 1.4-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine (98 horsepower, 123 Nm) is only used as a generator, while the drive motor can produce 163 horsepower and 315 Nm of peak torque.

Combined with a 1.77 kWh onboard battery, the vehicle achieves an NEDC fuel consumption of 18.5 km/L and a full tank range of up to 1000 km.
This design, where the engine does not directly drive the wheels, retains the smooth driving experience of an electric car without worrying about range anxiety.
The new generation Serena will provide a safe third space for families
For many families, the car is like a mobile third space, and Serena does this very well. The interior is equipped with a dual-screen system consisting of a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring smooth operation when connected to a smartphone.

Nissan's ProPilot advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) has also become standard, including functions such as adaptive cruise control and lane centering assistance.
In terms of driving safety, the vehicle is equipped with six airbags, as well as features such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, among others.

It is also worth mentioning that Nissan has implemented multiple localized optimizations for the Southeast Asian market.
- The right-hand drive layout fully adapts to Malaysian road rules, and the enhanced suspension rigidity effectively reduces body roll, making it more composed on bumpy rural roads.
- Improved sound insulation materials and acoustic glass also help to isolate engine noise, providing commendable cabin quietness during high-speed driving.
- Aerodynamic optimizations further reduce in-cabin vibrations, enhancing ride comfort.

From the 2025 MPV sales ranking in Malaysia, although the current Serena (C27) sold only 2,484 units, many people choose it because it allows them to get a sliding door MPV with a lower budget, which is quite a practical advantage in the same price range.

With this C28 model upgrade, the seating layout, storage details, and other aspects that are important to family users have all been optimized.
Coupled with the new hybrid system and intelligent features, if the pricing can still target the cost-effective sliding door MPV segment, it might regain more attention from family users when it launches in the first quarter of 2026, potentially drawing some interest away from popular models like the Alza and Xpander.
