【PCauto】An industry insider revealed that the supplier for Porsche's intelligent driving has been determined, which is Chinese technology company named Horizon Robotics. More specific infromation is expected to be announced by Porsche official during or after the Shanghai Auto Show in China (April 25th).

The guess about this collaboration of Porsche and Horizon Robotics comes from the cooperation between Porsche's parent company, Volkswagen Group, and Horizon Robotics. In 2022, Volkswagen Group and Horizon Robotics formally established the partnership. In November 2023, the joint venture company CARIZON was established, until now it has employed more than 500 intelligent driving engineers. On April 7, 2025, Volkswagen Group and Horizon Robotics announced further cooperation in autonomous driving, based on Robotics' HSD (Horizon SuperDrive).

Besides that, Porsche's after-tax net profit in 2024 is approximately RMB 28.4 billion, a drop of more than 30%. Moreover, Porsche's sales in Chinese market have declined for two consecutive years. In 2024, Porsche delivered 56,900 vehicles, a sharp drop of 28% year-on-year. To meet the demand for intelligent mobility in Chinese market, Porsche has emphasized boosting its R&D capabilities through investments in autonomous driving technologies on the mainland.

According to further reports, Porsche's intelligent driving system will be developed based on the HSD (Horizon SuperDrive). The core technology of HSD includes the Journey 6P chip, which delivers a single-chip computing power of 560 TOPS capable of supporting complex scenarios such as urban intersections and mixed traffic environments, and it also incorporates VLA large model technology. HSD has already been verified its maturity through the use in brands like Li Xiang and Zeekr.
Finally, will Porsche be able to continue its rigorous attitude and advanced concepts in the field of traditional vehicles, and bring about a superior intelligent driving experience beyond other vehicle brands in the field of intelligent driving? This is certainly worth paying attention to.
