Smart #5 is expected to be launched in China on October 27th, and it's possible to be introduced to the domestic market in the future. Currently, the models on sale in the domestic market are Smart #3 and Smart #1, with price ranges of RM175,000-255,000 and RM169,000-249,000 respectively.

Smart #5 adopts the latest design of the Smart family, thanks to the design team of Mercedes-Benz, the new car has a more futuristic appearance. The through-type LED light group with the intermittent LED highlights the actual concept of the "capsule". At the same time, the new car also has a light off-road attribute, and the shape of the front surround is more off-road.

Smart #5 has a fairly standard midsize SUV structure. The overall shape of the rear echoes the front and features closed wheel hubs. In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the new car are 4705/1920/1705mm, and the wheelbase is 2900mm.

For the interior, Smart #5 is equipped with a 10.3-inch all-LCD dashboard and a 25.6-inch AR-HUD, along with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, dual 13-inch OLED 2.5K large screens, and an inbuilt AMD V2000 car chip.

For the power system, Smart #5 is built on an 800V architecture, available in single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor version comes in 250kW and 267kW options, the former fitted with a lithium iron phosphate battery and the latter with a ternary lithium battery pack. Dual motor versions are available in standard and BRABUS performance versions. The former has a maximum combined power of 432kW (165kW front / 267kW back); while the BRABUS performance version has a combined power of 475kW (165kW front /310kW back), with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds.
Two sizes of battery packs will be available, with capacities of 76kWh and 100.01kWh. The cruising range options include 570km, 660km, 670km, 720km, and 740km.
