Recently, a official from Thailand's Prime Minister's Office said that Tesla is currently negotiating with the Thai government about the establishment of a factory in Thailand. There have been reports that Tesla's investment in a Thai factory will not be less than 5 billion US dollars, and last year, Tesla conducted an on-site exploration in Thailand.

According to Supakorn Congsomjit from the Thai Prime Minister's Office, the Thai government will provide the Tesla factory with 100% green energy to ensure low-carbon emissions in production. However, it is not yet clear whether the factory will specifically produce electric vehicles or batteries.
As early as last September, the Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin had a meeting with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and discussed the topic of investing in Thailand through a teleconference. In November, Srettha Thavisin visited Tesla's Fremont factory in San Francisco, USA to discuss issues regarding electric vehicles and clean energy. He said he looked forward to seeing more of Tesla's "presence" in Thailand.

In 2022, Tesla officially entered the Thai market and began delivery of Model 3 and Model Y in 2023. It is understood that the Tesla cars currently sold in Thailand are produced and transported from Tesla’s factory in Shanghai, China.
