Thailand Motor Expo 2024 will be held from November 29 to December 10, 2024, with numerous automotive brands attending, including the Japanese car manufacturer Nissan. Recently, Nissan has been in the spotlight in Thailand due to concerns about profitability and layoffs. At this year's Motor Expo, Nissan will be showcasing its popular model, the Nissan Serena, at booth A18.

Nissan currently has a model for sale in the Thai market, priced at THB 1,469,000, which is relatively high compared to its competitors in the same segment. The main competitors of the Nissan Serena include the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Voxy/Noah, and Buick GL8.
Nissan Serena 2.0 S Hybrid 2024: THB 1,469,000

The Nissan Serena is available in two versions in Thailand, the C27 and C28 models. The C27 model is imported from Malaysia, while the C28 model is expected to be launched in Thailand soon. Although the C28 model is highly anticipated, the version currently available in the Thai market is the older C27 model.
The Nissan Serena C27 is equipped with a 2.0 S-Hybrid system, featuring a 2.0-liter engine and electric motor that delivers 150 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The upcoming C28 model will feature the e-Power drive system, providing an experience similar to driving an electric vehicle. It's worth noting that, unlike the electronic handbrake found in many modern cars, the Nissan Serena uses a foot-operated parking brake, which might not be the preferred choice for some customers.

The new generation Nissan Serena (C28) maintains a boxy design with a more simplified and elegant appearance. Its dimensions have slightly increased compared to the current C27 model. However, due to its 7-seat layout, the Serena's luggage space is somewhat limited, especially when all seats are occupied.
C27 dimensions: 4,770 mm X 1,740 mm X 1,865 mm, wheelbase 2,860 mm
C28 dimensions: 4,765 mm X 1,715 mm X 1,870 mm, wheelbase 2,870 mm

The Nissan Serena is popular for its split front headlights and turn signal design, as well as its two-tone body options and black D-pillars, which enhance its stylish appearance. It also features hands-free dual electric sliding doors, a dual rear tailgate, and seven USB charging ports inside the cabin. The vehicle is equipped with multiple safety features, including front dual airbags, side airbags, full-length airbags, and an intelligent panoramic monitoring system.
In the Thai market, the Nissan Serena C27 faces stiff competition from models like the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Voxy/Noah. Although it offers a spacious interior and a wealth of features, its relatively high price and the foot-operated parking brake design may influence consumer preferences. With the highly anticipated C28 model on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether Nissan can leverage this new release to improve its market share in Thailand's MPV segment. This is something we will have to wait and see.

After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
