Model Overview

Axia 1.0 E MT

Axia 1.0 E MT is the only manual model with a price of RM 22,000. This model retains the basic design of the first-generation Axia with slight updates. The power system still uses a 1KR-VE 1.0L 3-cylinder engine that outputs 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque, and is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Its fuel economy is 4.44 L/100 km. Interior configuration includes two airbags, electric windows for four doors, central lock and a backlit analogue instrument panel. The body colour options are Glittering Silver, Ivory White and Granite Grey.

Axia 1.0 G

The Axia 1.0 G has a price of RM 38,600 and is a basic automatic model. It is equipped with halogen headlights, driver's seat adjustment, Bluetooth connection, and a 4.2-inch multi-information display screen. Compared to the manual model, the Axia 1.0 G adds more comfort and convenience.

Axia 1.0 X

The Axia 1.0 X has a price of RM 40,000, with improved configuration, including steering wheel height adjustment and smart entry with one-push start function. This model provides higher comfort and convenience in daily driving and is especially suitable for consumers with a limited budget but pursuing higher configurations.

Axia 1.0 SE

The price of the Axia 1.0 SE is RM 44,000. The interior has been further upgraded and is equipped with digital air conditioning control (similar to Perodua Ativa) and the "Power Mode" button. This mode can increase the power response of Axia and is particularly suitable for use when overtaking. The appearance has been enhanced with the addition of front side skirts and chrome front grille, enhancing the overall visual effect.

Axia 1.0 AV

The Axia 1.0 AV is the top equipped model with a price of RM 49,500. It has the most features and the most luxurious interior. This model is equipped with a 9.0-inch floating infotainment touch screen, 7-inch digital instrument panel, and leather steering wheel with audio controls. The seats are made of semi-leather material that provides higher comfort. In terms of safety features, the 1.0 AV offers the Perodua ASA 3.0 ADAS safety package, which includes automatic high-beam, lane departure warning and prevention, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

Exterior Design

The all-new D74A Perodua Axia is based on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, which is longer, wider, and lower than the previous generation. The specific dimensions are 3760 mm long, 1665 mm wide, and 1495 mm high. The wheelbase has increased by 60 mm, reaching 2525 mm. Despite the increase in size, Axia's turning radius remains at 4.5 meters.

All models are equipped with 14-inch rims and the taillights adopt the bulb design. The high-end models add automatic LED headlights, front parking sensors, front side skirts and chrome front grills. In terms of color, except for 1.0 E MT, Axia other models offer five color options, including Coral Blue, Granite Grey, Lava Red, Glittering Silver, and Ivory White.

Interior Design

The interior design of the D74A Axia has made significant improvements in enhancing the driving experience. The lower-end models 1.0 E MT, 1.0 G, and 1.0 X feature a rotary air conditioner control and analog dashboard, while the high-end models 1.0 SE and 1.0 AV are equipped with digital air conditioning control and an all-digital dashboard. The top-end model 1.0 AV also boasts a 9-inch infotainment system and a leather steering wheel that enhance the overall sense of luxury.

Power System

The new Axia continues to use the 1KR-VE 1.0 liter 3-cylinder engine that outputs 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque. Except for the 1.0 E MT, all other models are equipped with the new Dual-mode CVT (D-CVT) gearbox, which replaces the previous 4-speed automatic transmission. The D-CVT performs excellently in terms of fuel economy, and Perodua claims that the new Axia has a fuel consumption of 4.29 L/100 km under the Malaysian Driving Cycle (MDC).

Safety Performance

In terms of safety, the 2023 Axia has also been significantly upgraded. All models are standard with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and the top-end model 1.0 AV offers 6 airbags and Perodua's Intelligent Driving Assistant (PSDA) ADAS suite, including automatic high-beam (AHB), lane departure warning (LDW), lane-keep assist (LDP), blind-spot monitoring (BSM), and forward collision warning (PCW), forward collision braking (PCB), Front Vehicle Start Alert (FDA), and Misoperation Control of Accelerator (PMC).

The 2023 D74A Perodua Axia received a 4-star rating under the latest 2021-2025 testing protocol of the ASEAN NCAP.

Conclusion

Overall, the all-new 2023 Perodua Axia has undergone comprehensive upgrades in terms of exterior design, interior configuration, power system and safety performance. Models with different configurations provide consumers with a rich choice, whether it is the entry-level model Axia 1.0 E MT that pursues cost-effectiveness, or the top-model Axia 1.0 AV that pursues luxury configuration, it can satisfy consumers with different needs.

For consumers with limited budgets, Axia 1.0 X is undoubtedly a good choice. Its steering wheel up and down adjustment function and smart entry and one-key start function greatly enhance the driving comfort. And for consumers pursuing high-end configuration, Axia 1.0 AV provides a comprehensive luxury experience and advanced safety configuration. Although the price is slightly higher, its configuration is worth the price.

No matter which one you choose, 2023 Perodua Axia will be your ideal choice for shuttling through the city.
