By the end of 2022, the Toyota Harrier has undergone a minor change in the Malaysian market. The 2023 Harrier includes two versions: Harrier 2.0 Luxury and the newly introduced Harrier 2.0 Luxury Special Edition (SE), with prices starting from RM 274,000 and RM 277,000 respectively. The increase in prices is mainly due to upgrade in configurations and some new features.

Power and Performance
The 2023 Toyota Harrier continues to be equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine, which can output a maximum horsepower of 173PS and a peak torque of 203Nm. The power is transmitted to the front wheels through a Direct Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), giving this SUV excellent power transmission and fuel economy. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 9.7 seconds, the top speed is 190 km/h, and fuel consumption is 15.3 km/L (6.5L/100km).
Exterior and Interior
In terms of appearance, the new Harrier retains its signature design and offers five body color options: Slate Grey Metallic, Precious Black, Steel Blonde Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.

The Special Edition SE adds a new red paint scheme, paired with a luxurious brown interior. In terms of interior design, the new car offers not only the standard black tone.

The SE version uses brown leather wraps on the interior door panels and center console, which creates a more luxurious atmosphere.
Configuration and Function
The upgraded version of Harrier has made many upgrades in its configuration. First of all, the addition of the Panoramic View Monitor feature makes the driver's view clearer when parking and driving on narrow roads. In addition, the latest Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite has also been improved, including Pre-Collision Brake detection, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

In terms of in-car configuration, the Harrier is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.

Also, the vehicle is equipped with wireless charging, five USB-C ports, heads-up display (HUD), front and rear driving recorder (DVR), and digital rear-view mirror.

Front and rear LED fog lights, dual LED projection headlights and sensing electric tailgate are all standard configurations.
Safety
In terms of safety, the new Harrier's TSS suite has been fully upgraded. The automatic emergency braking system can now detect oncoming traffic, pedestrians, and bicycles. The Lane Departure Alert (LDA) system has added roadside edge detection, which can sense grasslands or curbs.

In addition, the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) system can now adjust the vehicle speed at turns and curves, providing a smoother driving experience.
After-sales Service
UMW Toyota Motor provides a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty service to customers who buy Harrier, ensuring that the vehicle has comprehensive after-sales protection during use.

Since its launch in the Malaysian market, the Toyota Harrier has been widely welcomed. The 300 Japan Complete Built Units (CBU) models of the first released (XU80) in 2021 were sold out in a short time.
In general, the 2023 Toyota Harrier, while maintaining the original power and design, has further enhanced its market competitiveness through the addition of new configurations and features. The launch of the special edition SE not only increases the model selection but also provides consumers with more personalized and luxurious experiences.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
