The second generation of Aion V is revealed, when will it enter the Southeast Asian market?

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China released the information of the second generation AION V of GAC Aion, which had already made its debut at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. The new car is positioned as a new tough smart driving SUV, adopting the new "ecological function" design language, and has been upgraded in terms of intelligence, three-electric system, etc., equipped with ADIGO 5.0 human-computer interaction system, advanced intelligent driving assistance system (Orin-X chip + Lidar) and AI large model ADiGO SENSE. And its CLTC cruising range has reached 750km, with 370km of charge in 15 minutes.

In terms of appearance, the second generation AION V adopts a new "ecological function" design language, which was jointly designed by a global design team in Los Angeles, Milan, Shanghai, Guangzhou. Its shape design inspiration comes from the classic life force totem - the Tyrannosaurus, bringing the classic, pure tough gene to the extreme.

From the overall vehicle modeling, the second generation AION V uses stiff lines with rectangular features, decorated with cyber dragon claw elements throughout the vehicle design, and also uses the AION letter mark at the rear of the car.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the second generation AION V are 4605/1854 (1876)/1660 (1686) mm, the wheelbase is 2775mm and it adopts a five-seat layout. In addition, the approach angle/departure angle of the new car are 19 degrees and 27 degrees, respectively.

In addition, the new car can choose different color spoilers, rear tail signs, different color brake calipers, door handles, no privacy glass, different color luggage racks, roof laser radar, different color side skirts, different color front bumper trims, wheel rims, different color rear decorative pieces, different color rear trim strips, different color front lips, rear window glass, and other configurations.

In terms of power, according to the declaration information, the second generation AION V is equipped with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 150 kW and a top speed of 160 km. In terms of endurance, it is known that the car will be built on a 400VSiC platform, with a CLTC pure electric range of 750 km, and can be charged 370 kilometers in 15 minutes.

In addition, the second generation AION V is equipped with a self-developed second-generation ITS2.0 intelligent temperature control system (the highest integration in the world), and uses the industry's first twelve-valve multi-mode high-efficiency thermal management integrated module, standard heat pump, the low-temperature energy consumption is 50% lower than the previous generation model, and it can adapt to the widest temperature range in the industry (-30 ~ 55 ℃).

Combined with previous information, the second generation of AION V will also be equipped with the ADIGO 5.0 intelligent driving interconnection ecosystem, integrated with the AI large model ADiGO SENS, which is carefully trained based on the data of one million Ean car owners, can accurately identify and meet the personalized needs of users, and has self-learning interaction logic, with limitless understanding capacity. Also, it is equipped with a 4-zone voice interaction, can recognize multiple languages, and has a super-anthropomorphic verbal output.

At the same time, it will also be equipped with an advanced intelligent driving system, adopt a “BEV (pure electric vehicle)+OCC (occupied network technology)+Transformer (neural network model based on self-attention mechanism)” intelligent driving solution, equipped with Nvidia Orin-X chip, a high-thread LiDAR, 5 millimeter-wave radars and 11 cameras to form smart driving hardware, able to achieve leading assisted driving capabilities in both high-speed and city sections.

In terms of configuration, the second-generation AION V adopts a master and auxiliary 8-point massage SPA + rear queen recliner, and is capable of making 137-degree adjustments which allows backseat passengers to find the most comfortable sitting position that matches the angle of their spine. It also features a masterfully tuned sound system with 9 Belgian Premium speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer for a better audio-visual experience. The new car also comes standard with VtoL external discharge function, a three-mode four-control heating and cooling refrigerator, and so on.

So the question is, Aion V is already in its second generation in the Chinese market, when will it enter the Southeast Asian market? Presently, the Aion Y Plus is gradually gaining recognition in the Thai market, and the Aion brand will continue to delve deeper into Thailand and the entire Southeast Asian market. Although there is some overlap in the positioning and pricing of the Aion V and the Aion Y Plus, introducing the Aion V into the market, can enrich the product lineup of Aion, and enhance the brand recognition of Aion, which is believed to be necessary as well.
