Since its launch in 2019, the Perodua Aruz, a seven-seater SUV, has quickly gained the favor of consumers in the Malaysian market with its highly competitive price and rich specifications. Aruz underwent minor modifications in 2021 and launched two models.

Models and prices
Perodua Aruz has two models, which are:
- Aruz 1.5X: Price RM 72,900
- Aruz 1.5AV: Price RM 77,900
All models come with a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first).
External design
Aruz has some slight differences with its sibling, the Toyota Rush, it mainly shows in the front grille and logo. The Aruz logo uses the third Perodua logo, and the chrome bars are connected to the LED daytime running lights, which forms a unique front face design.

Interior configuration
Aruz's interior design is unique. Two silver decorative bars on the dashboard outline the overall shape and are equipped with Perodua's own 7-inch infotainment screen.
All models are equipped with 17-inch two-color alloy wheels, keyless entry and start system, integrated SmartTAG, six airbags, ABS anti-lock braking system, EBD electronic brake force distribution system, brake assist system, vehicle stability control system, hill-start assist, gradient descent control and Isofix child seat interface on the second-row outer seats.

The high-equipped version of 1.5AV is additionally equipped with Perodua's Active Safety Assist 2.0 (ASA 2.0) active safety assistance system. The upgrade of system adds pedestrian detection functionality (limited speeds no more than 50 kilometers/hour), adds collision warning functionality at speeds of not more than 100 kilometers/hour, and adds collision brake functionality at speeds of not more than 80 kilometers/hour. It also include features like forward vehicle departure warning and pedal misoperation control.
Perodua Aruz achieved the ASEAN NCAP five-star safety rating issued by the Malaysian Road Safety Research Institute (MIROS), which proves its excellent performance in terms of safety.
Power System
Aruz is powered by the same 2NR-VE Dual VVT-i 1.5 liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine as the Toyota Rush, but the Aruz's power is 3Ps and 3Nm lower than the Rush's. The maximum horsepower of it is 102PS (6000rpm), and the maximum torque is 133Nm (4200rpm).

This Dual VVT-i engine is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The fuel efficiency of Aruz is 15.6 kilometers per liter (6.4 liters per 100 kilometers).
Although Aruz has some shortcomings, as a household SUV with a friendly price, Aruz still has high value. Its rich safety configuration, a large amount of space and flexible driving performance make it a good choice for household cars.
Compared with competitors such as Honda BR-V, Proton Exora, and Mitsubishi Xpander, Aruz has a clear advantage in cost performance. Overall, Perodua Aruz is a practical SUV that can meet the needs of most families.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
