The 7-seater MPV, Toyota Veloz, is locally assembled (CKD Rawang) alongside the D27A Perodua Alza at Perodua Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd, and its sole model price is RM 95,000.

Appearance: Fresh and Novel

Veloz is from the same family as Alza and Daihatsu Xenia, which retains the outline of its sibling models, but unique in the aesthetic style. The LED headlights, daytime running lights, and fog lights of Veloz are located on both sides of the front grille, with the Toyota logo in the middle.

It uses the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and a turning radius of 5 meters. It is acceptable that the car is 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, and 1,700 m tall. And the curb weight is 1,185 kg, and the fuel tank is 43 L.

It's worth noting that the mudguards of Veloz are tailor-made, and slightly wider than those of Alza, so for Alza owners, please note that these are not common parts. The side of the body is fitted with dual-color 17-inch wheels, with 205/50 Toyo Proxes CR1 tires.

In addition, the unique plastic wheel arches and the roof rails with a load capacity of up to 75 kg are also some of the features of the Veloz's back door. At the rear of the car, the full-length LED light bar in Harrier style gives the car a unique appearance.

Veloz has a significant difference in interior design with the latest model of Perodua. It uses a two-tone color scheme, black paired with white, which is different from Alza's brown paired with black. The car can accommodate up to 7 passengers, and the seats can be folded to adapt to different layouts. A 9-inch infotainment touchscreen is equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and at the same time it has 6 speakers.

Veloz also offers multiple USB interfaces, 12V sockets, rear air conditioning outlets, Qi 2.4 wireless charger, and front-row single-zone automatic air conditioning. The trunk capacity is 498 liters (with the third row of seats folded up).

Safety: Full Assurance

Veloz performs well in terms of safety. It is equipped with 6 airbags, 4 parking sensors, VSC, TRC, HAC, ABS + EBD, and other basic safety facilities. In the ASEAN NCAP crash test, Veloz received a 5-star rating.

In addition, it is also equipped with Toyota Safety Sense auxiliary functions, including a pre-collision system, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, lane keeping control, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, etc. Other safety devices include a panoramic camera, adaptive high beams, front departure alert, and pedal misoperation control.

Powertrain: efficient and reliable

Veloz is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder dual VVTi engine (2NR-VE), and matched with a D-CVT automatic transmission. Veloz deliveries 106 PS / 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm / 4,200 rpm torque, driving to the front wheels (FWD).

The vehicle is also equipped with a driving mode selector button, the driver can switch between Eco, Normal, and Sport modes according to usage.

Warranty and maintenance:

UMWT offers a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty service. In addition, customers can also choose to add a Toyota Service Savers maintenance package. The 3-year/60,000-kilometer package price is RM 1,780, and the 5-year/100,000-kilometer package price is RM 2,790.
