Toyota's Most Powerful EV: Coming to Europe First in 2026

【PCauto】bZ4X Touring is set to be launched in Europe in spring 2026. This derivative model of the bZ4X addresses the shortcomings of the standard version in cargo capacity and off-road performance while setting a new power benchmark for Toyota EVs with its total output of 280kW.
bZ4X Touring: Bigger Dimensions, More Space
As a twin model of Subaru Trailseeker, bZ4X Touring is built on the e-TNGA platform but features significantly enlarged dimensions.
It measures 4,830mm in length—140mm longer than standard version, and its height is 1670mm, increasing by 20mm. This expansion provides a practical space: the trunk offers 600 liters of capacity, an improvement of 148 liters over the standard model.

With the rear seats folded down, cargo space can be expanded to 1,800 liters, approaching the capacity of traditional fuel-powered SUVs like Honda CR-V. The roof is equipped with a 70kg-capacity luggage rack, paired with black wheel arches and exclusive bronze paint. The exterior retains the hammerhead shark-inspired front fascia, while the full-width light bar reinforces its electric identity.

0-100km/h in Just 6s (Dual-Motor Version)
Performance specifications are its core highlight. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivers 280kW of power and 420N·m of peak torque, achieving 0-100km/h acceleration in just 6 seconds - making bZ4X Touring the most powerful model in Toyota's pure electric lineup.

The single-motor front-wheel-drive variant offers 165kW and 270N·m, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds. Both versions are equipped with a 74.7kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP range of 560km - sufficient for medium-to-long distance outdoor trips.
Particularly impressive is the 150kW DC fast-charging capability, enabling 10%-80% charge replenishment in just 30 minutes, significantly alleviating range anxiety during off-road adventures.

Designed for unpaved terrain, bZ4X Touring adopts an upgraded X-Mode off-road system and electronic differential lock, combined with all-terrain tires for enhanced capability. In technology, it utilizes silicon carbide semiconductor technology to improve its power control efficiency, though the 14-inch central touchscreen appears rather conventional in terms of interior tech offerings. The newly added City Moss brown interior attempts to create a rugged outdoor feel, but the overall smart technology level still seems somewhat conservative.

Global Launch Planned for bZ4X Touring
However, bZ4X Touring's maximum DC fast-charging capability is limited to 150kW (allowing a 10% to 80% charge in 30 minutes). Currently, some Chinese automakers have already introduced 1000kW charging technology, significantly reducing EV charging time.
Although bZ4X Touring performs well in many aspects, but before its launch, it needs to address this critical issue of charging, figuring out how not to lag behind the market.

Jaecoo J7 VS Honda CR-V, which is the most worthwhile C-Segment SUV to buy
With an exterior that closely resembles a Land Rover, Jaecoo J7's sales experienced several months of rapid growth but have recently slowed down. Perhaps the market is nearing saturation, as Jaecoo J7 has already surpassed the once-dominant Honda CR-V in the C-Segment SUV category.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Which one is better, Honda City or Toyota Vios?
When choosing a compact sedan, Honda City and Toyota Vios are often two options that make people weigh repeatedly. You might be attracted to the dynamic design of the Vios but also be captivated by the City.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
