【PCauto】In 2025, Perodua is set to unveil a series of highly anticipated new launches and facelifts, reflecting bold strides in electrification and refined updates to its classic models.

Perodua to Launch Its First Electric Vehicle

Perodua’s inaugural pure electric vehicle is expected to hit the market in Q4 2025. To ensure optimal performance and quality, testing may begin as early as June 2025.

The EV will be equipped with batteries supplied by CATL, utilizing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology with a capacity ranging between 55.7 kWh and 57.6 kWh, which is anticipated to support a driving range of over 400 kilometers. The fast charging system will deliver up to 50 kW via DC charging, enabling a full charge in approximately 1 hour, while AC charging at up to 11 kW should require about 5 hours for a complete recharge.

Under the hood, the model will generate 129 kW (163 hp) of power and a torque of 315 N·m, boasting an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 9 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h.

Priced at an estimated entry-level of around 80,000 RM, this EV is designed to be one of the most affordable electric alternatives in the Malaysian market. Besides, to further reduce the upfront costs for buyers, the battery may be offered through subscription or leasing, eliminating the need for a one-time high payment.

A New B-SUV Joins the Perodua Family

In addition to its first PEV, Perodua’s CEO confirmed at a media briefing that a new B-SUV, codenamed D66B, will be launched in 2025.

Positioned as the twin sibling of Yaris Cross, D66B has been in the spotlight since its birth. Although it will only feature naturally aspirated engines instead of a hybrid system, Perodua has spared no effort in elevating other aspects.

From a design perspective, D66B is crafted to meet the dual needs of urban commuting and outdoor leisure. Its exterior exudes a youthful, dynamic appeal with smooth, powerful body lines that cater to both fashionable city driving and robust off-road performance.

Technologically, D66B will sport a recalibrated engine that delivers significant improvements in both power output and fuel efficiency. Also, an advanced electronic control system provides real-time monitoring and adjustment of the vehicle’s performance, ensuring stable operation in congested urban streets as well as on rugged country roads.

Moreover, the suspension system and chassis tuning are expected to be optimized to better absorb road irregularities, offering heightened comfort and safety.

Bezza’s Facelift Focuses on Enhanced Fuel Economy

Perodua will also refresh its existing models in 2025. Bezza’s facelift includes exterior tweaks such as a redesigned front grille with a more three-dimensional look, improving the vehicle’s overall presence. The headlamps are expected to adopt new LED technology, enhancing both illumination and aesthetic sharpness.

Along the sides, smoother body lines and a refined wheel design will boost the model’s visual appeal.

Inside, enhancements are likely to focus on comfort and technology—with upgraded seat materials (potentially higher-quality fabrics or faux leather) and a reconfigured center console designed for intuitive access. An upgraded console screen with more advanced connectivity features like smartphone mirroring and online navigation is also on the cards, providing better driving experience. Also, additional storage solutions will further underscore the model’s practicality.

In terms of powertrain updates, Bezza may include further optimization of the 1.0 VVT-i and 1.3 DUAL VVT-i engines to improve fuel economy. Through advances in combustion technology and powertrain integration, along with the potential incorporation of mild hybrid features, Bezza aims to deliver enhanced performance while reducing energy consumption, aligning with consumer demand for efficiency and eco-friendliness.

Myvi to Enhance Power and Fuel Efficiency

As Perodua’s best-selling model, Myvi is also set for a transformative facelift in 2025. The front end may adopt a more aggressive design with an expanded grille and a new grille style that injects a sportier allure. The redesigned headlamps will complement the new grille, boosting the overall visual impact, while the side profile could feature a more fluid, coupe-like silhouette to improve a sense of fashion and a redesigned tail light with a continuous light signature for improved nocturnal visibility.

The revamped Myvi will focus on improving the texture and comfort of the interior. Expect a center console wrapped with soft-touch materials coupled with precise stitching for a luxurious feel. Ergonomically designed seats, potentially with heating and ventilation functions, will provide superior support and comfort. Technologically, a larger digital instrument cluster and enhanced infotainment screen will offer a richer array of connectivity options.

Power upgrades may also involve an improved engine for better output and fuel efficiency, along with the potential introduction of hybrid (mild or plug-in) systems. Chassis and suspension tuning will further enhance handling and ride quality, solidifying Myvi’s performance credentials.

Alza’s Safety and Versatility Get a Boost

Alza, a MPV, will continue to leverage its spacious design with further optimization in 2025. Its seating configurations could become more flexible, offering a broader range of arrangements, while additional storage compartments enhance overall convenience. Higher-quality interior materials will uplift the cabin’s look and feel, complemented by passenger-friendly features such as individual rear AC vents and USB charging ports.

In terms of safety, Alza is set for significant improvements. In addition to standard offerings like airbags, ABS, and EBD, expect advanced active safety features including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automated emergency braking to provide comprehensive protection for all occupants.

Ativa Embraces a Sportier Persona

For Ativa, Perodua’s compact SUV, the 2025 facelift will emphasize a sportier and more modern aesthetic. The front grille could be entirely redesigned for a more distinctive look, paired with matrix LED headlamps that offer both improved lighting and striking visual impact.

Enhancements on the side may include new body kit details and side skirts that lend an adventurous, off-road vibe, while a reworked tail light design with an integrated spoiler accentuates its athletic stance.

Inside, Ativa will capitalize on a high-tech ambiance with an all-new center console featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument panel. These upgrades will integrate comprehensive vehicle information and entertainment features, including remote smartphone control and online music streaming. Premium materials and ambient lighting further enhance cabin comfort.

Furthermore, refined chassis and suspension tuning—potentially incorporating an independent suspension system—will result in sporty handling, improved cornering stability, and a smoother ride over uneven surfaces.

Summary

In 2025, Perodua will reinforce its leadership in the Malaysian automotive market by introducing its first electric vehicle, a brand-new B-SUV, and refreshed iterations of several iconic models. These strategic new launches underscore Perodua’s commitment to technological innovation and product diversification, offering consumers high-quality vehicles with excellent value for money.

As the electric vehicle market rapidly evolves alongside shifting consumer preferences, the future of Perodua is truly exciting. Whether it’s the debut of its inaugural EV or the launch of a cutting-edge new SUV, Perodua is poised to inject fresh dynamism into Malaysia’s automotive landscape. Stay tuned as we witness the next wave of market excitement in 2025.
