Recently, the 2024 BYD Seal Dynamic EV, known as the entry-level model of BYD Seal, was released. The price is lower than the previous two models, priced at RM 163,800, while the configuration and performance have also been reduced compared to the previous two models, suitable for consumers who want to get a BYD Seal but have considerations on the price.
2024 BYD Seal Dynamic EV: RM 163,800
2024 BYD Seal Premium (Extended Range): RM 179,800
2024 BYD Seal Performance AWD: RM 199,800
However, before the release of the BYD Seal Dynamic model, the Premium and Performance AWD models of BYD Seal were often compared. The two models have different emphases on endurance and explosive power, the former focuses more on the vehicle's endurance mileage, with a performance of 650km, while the latter focuses more on the vehicle's explosive power, with a performance of 0-100 km/h in 3.8s. In addition, the two models have differences in driving modes, the former is rear-wheel drive, and the latter is all-wheel drive.
It is worth mentioning that BYD has other technologies to ensure the safety of vehicle operation, namely BYD iTAC (intelligence Torque Adaption Control) technology. It cleverly uses rotary variable sensors with higher angular resolution and higher sampling frequency to increase the sensitivity of the perception of wheel skidding. In addition, thanks to the fast response of motor torque output, it greatly improves vehicle safety, comfort, and handling.
In terms of response speed, the recognition accuracy of iTAC is more than 300 times higher than that of traditional torque control systems, and it can predict wheel speed change trends 50ms in advance. When there is an anomaly in the wheel end grip force but slip has not yet occurred, it identifies the grip force anomaly and adjusts in advance to restore vehicle stability.
On the control strategy, traditional control strategies can only control the vehicle by reducing torque through braking when facing slipping. But iTAC, based on advanced prediction, takes advantage of the fast response speed of the motor and the more precise speed adjustment, offering a variety of ways such as transferring torque, appropriately reducing torque, and outputting negative torque.
