Xpeng G7 EREV debut in China, with a maximum range of up to 1704 kilometers

【PCauto】Xpeng has confirmed that the G7 EREV will be launched in the first quarter of 2026, with its core selling point centered on range capability.
The G7 EREV indeed delivers impressive range figures. Under CLTC conditions, it achieves a pure electric range of 430 km, and with the fuel engine, the total range extends to 1,704 km.
For daily commuting, such a pure electric range approaches the level of many mainstream pure electric SUVs.

The G7 EREV is equipped with a 55.8 kWh battery pack and an 800V architecture that supports 5C ultra-fast charging.
Under ideal conditions, it can add up to 314 km of range in just 12 minutes of charging. In areas with less developed charging infrastructure, this fast-charging capability is often more meaningful than pure range figures.

Regarding engine noise, Xpeng aims to minimize its presence. The G7 EREV comes standard with ENC+RNC dual active noise cancellation and uses AI to manage the range extender's operation timing. Additionally, extensive sound-absorbing materials are applied in key areas, with the official goal of making engine noise imperceptible in 99% of scenarios.
In terms of design, the G7 EREV continues Xpeng's family design language. The closed front fascia, paired with a split lighting design featuring upper halo lights and lower high/low beams, is highly similar to that of the Xpeng P7+.
Hidden door handles, black exterior mirrors, and a panoramic sunroof are all typical features of current electric SUVs.
With dimensions of 4,918 × 1,925 × 1,655 mm and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm, it offers space performance that is quite attractive to family users.

At the rear, the through-style C-shaped taillights remain the visual focus, while the "POWER X" badge serves as the key identifier distinguishing it from the pure electric version.

Overall, Xpeng has not emphasized powertrain differences through exterior design, leaving distinctions more to the user experience.
The significance of the G7 EREV may extend beyond a single model. In recent years, Xpeng's strategy has emphasized pure electric and smart technologies, once regarding range extension as a transitional solution. However, with the strong performance of EREVs in the Chinese market (such as Li Auto and AITO's strong sales), Xpeng has chosen to apply its expertise in high-voltage platforms, battery management, and intelligent algorithms to this technology.

Of course, the competitive landscape cannot be ignored. The extended-range SUV market is heating up rapidly, with a pure electric range exceeding 300 km gradually becoming the new benchmark.
Although the G7 EREV's 430 km range offers an advantage, it is not insurmountable. Ultimately, consumer adoption will depend on pricing, configuration, and Xpeng's appeal in the mid-to-high-end market.
