[PCauto] On January 6, 2026, relevant automotive media in China released a series of road test photos of the Denza D9L, bringing key information to the MPV market.

As the flagship extended version of the current Denza D9, this Denza D9L aims to continue the current model and achieve further breakthroughs in the high-end segment of domestic MPV.

Next, we will discuss this car in terms of body size, exterior design, detailed configuration, and more.

Firstly, the overall silhouette of the Denza D9L is similar to the current Denza D9, adopting the same design style with adjustments made in some details. Although the new D9L is tightly wrapped, it is still evident that the body lines are relatively straight, allowing for a more spacious and practical interior space.

In terms of body size, the length of the Denza D9L reaches 5400 mm, 150 mm longer than the current Denza D9. The extended part is mainly located in the rear side area between the front and rear doors. Coupled with an estimated wheelbase of about 3.2 meters, the new car's interior space, especially the third-row space, is likely to be enhanced.

In addition, the Denza D9L is equipped with brand new 7-shaped headlights. The internal light and shadow design of the headlights can improve nighttime visibility, giving the overall appearance a more high-end feel.

Secondly, the detailed design of the Denza D9L emphasizes practicality and a sense of high-end sophistication. The laser radar device at the front of the roof is clearly visible, providing hardware support for the vehicle's intelligent driving functions.

In addition, the new vehicle is equipped with double-sided electric sliding doors, making it convenient for passengers to get in and out, which is especially suitable for business purposes. The second and third rows are equipped with privacy glass, bringing passengers a more private riding experience. These detailed designs meet the practical needs of MPV models while enhancing the car's high-end feel with a simple and organized design style.

Finally, let's talk about the configuration upgrades of the Denza D9L, which are mainly in the intelligent driving aspect. The D9L is equipped with an advanced intelligent driving assistance system. Paired with the laser radar on the roof, it supports urban road automatic navigation driving and all-scenario automatic parking, effectively improving commuting efficiency.

Furthermore, the vehicle frame is equipped with the DiSus-A intelligent body control system. Compared to the DiSus-C system in the current Denza D9, the new generation offers a wider adaptive adjustment range, providing more stable chassis feedback on bumpy roads and during high-speed cruising.

It is worth mentioning that the highly praised zero-gravity seats and Devialet audio system found in the current model are likely to appear in the new car in an upgraded form.

Another important point is the power configuration. The new car will offer both plug-in hybrid and pure electric versions.

  • The plug-in hybrid version will be equipped with a 2.0T engine and related hybrid technology, with a pure electric range expected to exceed 300 kilometers (CLTC standard) and a combined range of over 1,100 kilometers.
  • The pure electric version will be based on BYD's Super e-Platform, with high-end models offering a combined power output exceeding 640 kW, acceleration from 0-100 km/h within the 4-second range, and a CLTC range of approximately 620 kilometers, meeting the different travel needs of users.

At present, the interior details and final price of the Denza D9L have not been announced, but according to the revealed information, this 5.4-meter-long high-end MPV features strong competitiveness in terms of exterior, details, and configuration.

It is expected to become a significant product for domestic models to enter the high-end MPV market, providing consumers with a new option.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?

Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
