Nowadays, the C-Segment electric vehicle market offers an increasing variety of choices. Consumers not only seek practicality for daily commutes but also value the cost-effectiveness of features. The 2024 Neta X 400 Comfort, as the entry-level model of its series, has garnered attention since its launch with a price of less than RM120,000 and standard features like 6 airbags and electric seats. In this test drive, we focused on its spatial performance, power adequacy, and whether its features can truly meet the needs of family users.

From the exterior, the Neta X 400 Comfort takes a simple yet elegant design approach without too many complicated lines. The closed front grille paired with slender LED daytime running lights gives it a good level of recognition; the trapezoidal air intake below the bumper adds a touch of sportiness. The side profile displays flowing lines, with 18-inch wheels of a fairly standard style that align with its family-oriented positioning. The standout feature at the rear is the through-type LED taillights, which offer clear visual effects when lit, and the black guard on the lower rear bumper enhances the SUV's rugged outline. The overall design is not overly aggressive but rather visually enduring, catering to the aesthetics of most family users.

Inside the cabin, black serves as the primary color tone, and the 15.6-inch touchscreen in the center console is particularly eye-catching, featuring a rotatable function. However, in actual use, the rotation is not frequently utilized, as it's usually fixed in a vertical screen position. The screen operates smoothly, and commonly used functions like navigation and Bluetooth connectivity are very intuitive. Regarding materials, the top of the dashboard is wrapped in soft-touch materials, which feel decent to the touch, while the door panels are also wrapped in leather materials. The overall texture is not bad for this price range. In terms of features, the front seats support 6-way electric adjustment, allowing drivers of different heights to find a comfortable driving position. Additionally, rear air vents and USB ports (though not explicitly marked in the spec sheet but present during testing) cater to the needs of rear passengers.

Space is one of the advantages of the Neta X 400 Comfort. With a 2770mm wheelbase, it ranks among the top in the C-Segment vehicles. After adjusting the front seats to a comfortable position, the rear still offers about two fist-widths of legroom, ensuring that even passengers as tall as 180cm won’t feel cramped. The trunk space measures 508 liters, perfectly capable of holding two suitcases or a stroller. The rear seats can be folded down in a 60:40 split, extending storage space for larger items, which is useful for the occasional need to transport bulky goods.

In terms of power, the Neta X 400 Comfort is equipped with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a maximum power of 120kW (163PS) and a peak torque of 210N·m, enabling an official 0-100km/h acceleration in 9.5 seconds. During actual driving, the power response is very direct at the start, and a slight throttle press delivers a noticeable pushback sensation. It's easy to follow traffic or overtake when commuting in the city. At higher speeds, the power is slightly less responsive above 100km/h, but it is still adequate for typical highway cruising. There are three drive modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport. In Eco mode, the power output is smoother, suitable for daily commutes, while Sport mode is more aggressive, ideal for moments when you want to experience faster acceleration.

The chassis adopts a front MacPherson + rear multi-link independent suspension combination, with tuning biased towards comfort. When going over speed bumps or bumpy roads, the suspension filters out most of the jolts without any noticeable stiffness; when cornering, the body roll is well-controlled and does not suffer from insufficient support due to its comfort-oriented tuning. The steering wheel has moderate resistance and minimal dead zones, making it very easy to handle during daily driving.

In terms of range, the official pure electric range is 401 km, and the battery capacity is 51.8 kWh. In actual tests, the range achievement rate is about 85% during city commuting (40-60 km/h) and about 75% on highways (100-120 km/h), which meets overall expectations. Fast charging can recharge up to 80% in 0.5 hours, while slow charging takes 9 hours to fully charge. For home use, slow charging overnight is sufficient for daily commuting.

Regarding ride comfort, the noise insulation performance is commendable. At speeds below 60 km/h, tire noise and wind noise are not significant; when exceeding 80 km/h, wind noise slightly increases but remains within an acceptable range. The seat cushioning is moderately soft, ensuring that passengers don’t feel fatigued during long periods of sitting. The rear seats are also designed with a reasonable angle, offering good comfort for long-distance rides.

Overall, the core advantage of the Neta X 400 Comfort lies in its cost-effectiveness. Priced at less than 120,000 MYR, it comes standard with six airbags, electric seats, 360-degree panoramic imaging, rear air conditioning, and other features. Compared to other C-segment electric vehicles in the same price range, it has clear advantages in terms of configuration. The available space also meets the needs of family users, and its power and range are sufficient for daily commuting and short excursions.

This car is suitable for family users who value cost-effectiveness and practicality, especially for those whose daily commuting distance is within 50 km and occasionally need to travel with family members. For consumers with higher requirements for range, the 500 Luxury version in the series can be considered. However, the 400 Comfort, as an entry-level model, already covers most family usage scenarios.

In summary, the Neta X 400 Comfort is a practical electric car for families. It avoids flashy designs and prioritizes spending where it matters most — offering ample space, sufficient features, and moderate power. For families with a limited budget looking to purchase an electric vehicle, it is a good choice.

Owner of 2024 Neta X 400 Comfort
As an owner of the 2024 Neta X 400 Comfort for almost three months, my driving experience in Malaysia has been quite delightful! Let me talk about its appearance first—I would rate it 4 stars because the overall design is quite elegant. The 4.6-meter body makes parking in neighborhoods in Selangor relatively effortless. The LED headlights and the through-type taillights make it highly recognizable when driving at night; my neighbor even asked me what car this is. However, the design of the front grille is a bit conservative—if it were sportier, it would suit my taste even better, so I deducted one point. As for the performance, it deserves a full score! On highways in Malaysia, unexpected lane changers are quite common, but the instant torque from the motor is highly responsive. Stepping on the accelerator gives immediate acceleration, making overtaking very confident. Last week I drove to Genting Highlands, where there are many uphill curves. The suspension provided solid support, the car body showed no obvious rolling, and the grip from the front-wheel drive offered great reassurance. In city traffic, the smoothness of the motor is way more comfortable than a fuel-powered car—there’s absolutely no sense of jerking, making the daily commute much more relaxed. Overall, being able to buy such a pure electric car at this price is extremely cost-effective, especially with its performance, which is incredibly practical for local road conditions!

As the owner of the 2024 Neta X 400 Comfort, having driven it in Malaysia for nearly three months, the thing I want to praise most is its appearance! Every time I park near KLCC, passers-by would turn their heads — the streamlined body paired with the full-width LED taillights make it highly recognizable at night, and even my Malaysian colleagues have asked, "What car is this? It looks so premium!" The safety features are also quite reassuring, with 6 airbags and standard vehicle stability control. Last month, I encountered sudden rain on the Penang hill roads, and the surface was a bit slippery, but the system intervened in time to stabilize the direction and avoided any accidents. However, compared to my friend's Japanese car, it lacks intelligent aids like automatic braking and lane-keeping assistance. During the Kuala Lumpur rush hour when following cars, I still need to stay fully focused. I hope this can be upgraded in the future. Overall, being able to buy such an electric car for around 120,000 MYR, with its great design and solid safety performance, makes it quite suitable for driving in Malaysia!

Owner of 2024 Neta X 500 Luxury
As a Malaysian car owner, I’ve been driving the 2024 Neta X 500 Luxury for almost two months now, and the experience has been genuinely great! First, let me praise its performance, a well-deserved 5 stars — during Kuala Lumpur’s morning rush hours, the throttle response is especially precise, making starts and overtaking effortless. Even when fully loaded with family on the North-South Expressway, it cruises steadily at 120km/h, which is absolutely sufficient. For the interior, I’d give it 4 stars. The 15.6-inch large screen operates smoothly, the air conditioning cools quickly (you know how the Malaysian summer is), and the electric seat adjustment is convenient. However, there’s still quite a bit of plastic used, and it would be perfect if the details were more refined. In terms of safety, I feel assured. The 6 airbags and 360-degree camera are great — last time in Ipoh’s narrow alleys while reversing, the radar and cameras helped me avoid a motorcycle that appeared suddenly. ACC on the highway also eases the workload, but the lane departure warning is occasionally a bit sensitive. A reasonable 4 stars. As for the exterior, the streamlined body gets a fair amount of attention in parking lots, and the LED headlights are bright at night. It’s just that the color options are a bit limited. A solid 4 stars here~ Overall, at this price point, buying a pure electric SUV is very suitable for commuting and short trips in Malaysia!

Owner of 2024 Neta X 400 Comfort
As the owner of the 2024 Neta X 400 Comfort, having driven it in Malaysia for almost two months, what I want to praise most is its appearance! The body lines are really eye-catching, especially the through-type LED tail lights, which have super high recognizability at night in Kuala Lumpur's traffic. Every time, my friends can recognize my car from afar. The front design is also very stylish—it doesn’t look as exaggerated as some electric vehicles. Whether I use it for daily commuting around Klang Valley or weekend trips to Malacca, people often stop to ask what car it is when I park it by the roadside, which gives me a little bit of vanity satisfaction haha. As for the interior, I’m pretty satisfied overall. The 15.6-inch central control screen is very smooth to use, and it's quite convenient to scroll through social media or adjust the air conditioning while waiting at a red light. However, there’s a small detail: the plastic panel in front of the passenger seat, although it looks premium, feels a bit hard to the touch. If it could be replaced with a soft material, it would be even better. The electric seat adjustment is very practical, though. I adjust my sitting posture every morning before driving, and with Malaysia's often-congested traffic conditions, it doesn’t feel too tiring. All in all, for a car in this price range, I think it’s already very worth it!

Owner of 2024 Neta X 500 Luxury
As the owner of the 2024 Neta X 500 Luxury, I’ve been driving it in Malaysia for almost three months, and the experience has been a delightful surprise! First of all, its performance is far beyond expectations—during the rush hours in Kuala Lumpur, it takes off very swiftly and follows other vehicles smoothly in traffic jams. Even when I occasionally drive on the North-South Highway to overtake, the power delivery is remarkably smooth. It doesn't feel as "slow" as the claimed 9.5-second acceleration, and driving it in the city is incredibly comfortable. As for the exterior, there's nothing to complain about. With its streamlined body and LED headlights, parking it in front of the Pavilion mall garners a lot of attention. Friends all say it looks much better than Japanese SUVs in the same price range. Perfect score, well-deserved! When it comes to safety, it feels very reassuring overall. The six airbags and 360-degree camera are especially useful for narrow parking spots in my residential area, and the ACC adaptive cruise control lets me rest my right foot on the highway. However, I’d deduct a point because during heavy rain on rural roads, the lane departure warning occasionally gives false alerts, possibly due to faded road lines. But for daily urban driving, there’s no issue at all, and overall it’s still very reliable.
