Nowadays, the C-Segment SUV market faces fierce competition, with consumers emphasizing both space practicality and a balance of features and driving quality. The 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Allure, positioned as a mid-to-high trim level in its lineup, highlights its distinctive French design and premium features as core selling points. Through static evaluations and dynamic test drives, we aim to determine whether it can stand out in its segment.

From an exterior perspective, the 2019 3008 Allure maintains Peugeot's signature "lion claw" design language. The front features a large grille with chrome accents, flanked by LED headlights and daytime running lights seamlessly connected, offering high recognition when illuminated. The side profile of the car boasts smooth lines, dynamic 18-inch alloy wheels, and slightly pronounced wheel arches that enhance the SUV's rugged appeal. At the rear, the "lion claw" LED tail lights mirror the front design, while the silver skid plate below the rear bumper adds to the layered visual effect, leading to an overall design that is stylish yet steady.

Inside the cabin, the materials used in the Allure version are noticeably superior to the Active variant. The dashboard and door panels utilize soft-touch materials, complemented by metallic trim to exude exceptional quality. The center console layout is streamlined, with an 8-inch touchscreen positioned at an ergonomic height, offering smooth operation and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument panel is fully digital and offers three theme modes, which, along with the HUD (head-up display), allow drivers to access key information without looking down. For features, the front seats are electrically adjustable in 8 directions and include lumbar support, with a memory function for the driver's seat. Dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a 220V power outlet, and other practical configurations are comprehensive, ensuring convenience in everyday use.

In terms of space, the 4510mm length and 2730mm wheelbase place it at a mainstream level among its peers. The front row provides ample space, with about a fist of headroom remaining for a 180cm passenger. The rear row offers roughly two fists of legroom and one fist of headroom, ensuring that even three adults seated simultaneously will not feel cramped. The regular trunk capacity is 591L, expandable to 1670L by folding down the rear seats. This capacity comfortably accommodates strollers or large suitcases, meeting the needs of family outings. Additionally, the car offers abundant storage spaces, such as the central armrest box and door panel storage slots, which are sufficient for daily items.

The powertrain features a 1.6T turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power output of 167PS and achieving peak torque from as low as 1400rpm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. During actual driving, the power response is brisk at startup, and a slight press on the accelerator results in a noticeable push-back sensation. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 8.9 seconds, making overtaking effortless in daily driving. Gear shifts are smooth with almost no perceptible jerks. Switching to Sport mode makes the gear shifting logic more aggressive, and the paddle shifters on the steering wheel provide an added layer of driving enjoyment.

Handling and chassis performance are among the highlights of the 3008. The front MacPherson independent suspension is tuned on the firmer side without sacrificing comfort. When navigating speed bumps or uneven roads, the suspension quickly absorbs vibrations, maintaining the stability of the vehicle. During cornering, body roll is well contained, with precise steering and minimal slack in the steering wheel, instilling confidence in the driver. The braking system is linear in performance, with a moderate pedal travel, ensuring the vehicle remains stable without noticeable forward pitching during emergency braking.

In terms of fuel consumption, the official combined fuel consumption is 7L/100km. During actual test drives, the city fuel consumption is about 8.5L/100km, and the highway fuel consumption is about 6.5L/100km, which meets expectations. Noise control performs excellently, with wind noise and tire noise barely noticeable below a speed of 80km/h. At 120km/h, wind noise slightly increases but remains within an acceptable range. The seat wrapping is good, and long-duration driving does not cause fatigue, resulting in high overall driving and riding comfort.

In terms of safety features, the Allure version comes standard with 6 airbags, lane-keeping assist, active braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree panoramic camera, making its safety performance leading in its class. Compared to the Active version, the Allure version upgrades to full LED headlights, a single sunroof, and a 6-speaker audio system. Although it costs RM13,000 more, the enhanced features make it more cost-effective.

Overall, the core strengths of the 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Allure lie in its stylish exterior design, rich configuration, balanced performance in power and handling, and spacious interior. Compared to competitors in the same class, such as the Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4, it stands out with its distinctive features in configuration and design, making it suitable for families that value quality of life, or young consumers seeking a balance of individuality and practicality. If you are looking for a C-Segment SUV that combines aesthetics, features, and driving quality, the 3008 Allure is worth considering.

As the owner of the 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Allure, after driving it in Malaysia for almost two years, the most satisfying aspects are its performance and interior! First, let's talk about its performance. The 1.6T turbocharged engine is really sufficient for local road conditions. I commute daily on the LDP highway, and the abundant power can be felt with just a slight press on the accelerator when overtaking. The official figure of 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.9 seconds is absolutely reliable. Traffic jams are common in Kuala Lumpur city, but this engine runs very smoothly at low speeds without any jerking. As for fuel consumption, it averages around 7L/100km, which is already very economical for an SUV. The interior is even more impressive, the i-Cockpit design gives it a great sense of technology! The fully digital instrument cluster is clear, and the HUD head-up display allows me to check information without lowering my head, enhancing safety. The 8-inch touchscreen on the center console is very responsive and easy to operate. The seats are made of genuine leather and offer good support, so I don't feel tired even on long drives. The rear seats are spacious, and my family feels very comfortable sitting in the back. In summary, this car's performance in Malaysia has far exceeded my expectations, making it very suitable for both daily commutes and weekend trips.

Owner of 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Active
As the owner of the 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Active, I must say that this car's performance in Malaysia has left me very satisfied! Let’s start with the performance. This 1.6T turbocharged engine works exceptionally well under local driving conditions. Kuala Lumpur’s morning rush hour traffic is always congested, but this engine delivers maximum torque at 1,400 RPM, allowing me to maneuver through stop-and-go traffic with ease. On weekends, when taking the family to Genting Highlands, the 0-100km/h acceleration in 8.9 seconds lets me overtake effortlessly on the highway. Even on winding mountain roads, the front MacPherson independent suspension provides a stable handling experience. In terms of fuel efficiency, the official figure of 7L/100km is more or less achievable in actual use, which is quite impressive for a C-segment SUV. In terms of exterior design, the 3008 is definitely a head-turner on the road. With a body length of 4510mm and a width of 1850mm, it looks both imposing and dynamic. The lion-claw-style LED daytime running lights, in particular, are striking under Malaysia’s bright sun. The 18-inch wheels not only enhance the visual appeal but also improve off-road capability, providing peace of mind even on bumpy roads. The fastback-style rear design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also offers a 591L trunk space, perfectly meeting the daily needs of a family. All in all, whether in terms of performance or appearance, the 3008 perfectly meets my expectations. Driving it on Malaysian roads is truly an enjoyable experience!

Owner of 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Allure
Sure! Here's the translation: As the owner of the 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Allure, having driven it in Malaysia for almost three years, the thing I want to praise the most is its appearance — every time I park near KLCC, someone always comes over to ask what car it is! The lion claw LED headlights + floating roof really stand out among the sea of Japanese SUVs, so it definitely deserves a full 5-star rating. For safety, I’d give it 4 stars. When driving on the North-South Expressway, features like autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance have been really helpful — once, on a stretch near Seremban, the car in front suddenly braked hard, and the system intervened to decelerate. It gave me a fright, but I avoided a collision. However, on a rainy day while driving on a rural road, the ESP intervened a bit slowly. Although there wasn’t any skidding, I still wish its response could be a bit quicker. As for performance, the 1.6T turbo delivers torque at just 1400 rpm, which feels especially responsive in Kuala Lumpur’s morning rush-hour traffic and doesn’t feel sluggish when overtaking. Last weekend, I took my family to Genting Highlands, and the power was sufficient for climbing hills. But when the car was fully loaded with the air conditioning on, acceleration in the later stages felt a bit strained. Overall, giving it 4 stars seems reasonable. All in all, this car performs solidly on Malaysian roads, and its looks are definitely a plus!

As the owner of the 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Active, having driven it in Malaysia for nearly four years, let's talk about the performance first. For daily commuting in Kuala Lumpur, the start-stop system performs smoothly during rush hours, and it accelerates promptly when the light turns green without feeling sluggish. On weekends, when taking my family to Genting Highlands, the 1.6T turbo engages timely during climbs, delivering maximum torque at just 1400 rpm. It climbs steadily without needing to press the accelerator too hard and inspires confidence during overtaking on highways. Overall, I’d rate the performance 4 out of 5. The only minor downside is the slight jerkiness in the transmission during occasional rapid acceleration. As for the interior, the overall design is quite modern and technological. The fully digital instrument cluster is clear, and the HUD (Head-Up Display) is particularly practical under Malaysia's strong sunlight as it avoids the need to look down to check speed. The dual-zone automatic air-conditioning cools quickly in hot weather, with vents at the rear ensuring passengers in the back don’t feel stuffy. However, while most of the interior is wrapped in soft-touch materials, some plastic parts below the dashboard feel somewhat average in quality. So, I’d also give the interior a 4 out of 5. Overall, this car performs quite well for driving conditions in Malaysia and is more than sufficient for daily needs.

As the owner of the 2019 Peugeot 3008 THP Plus Active, having driven it for almost three years, what satisfies me the most are the interior design and safety features. Giving it 4 stars is absolutely reasonable! First, let's talk about the interior. The design of French cars is truly stylish. The i-Cockpit full LCD dashboard and the 8-inch central control screen are connected, making navigation particularly clear whether I'm driving on the highway or stuck in traffic in Kuala Lumpur. The genuine leather steering wheel feels very comfortable to hold, and the layout of the multifunction buttons is reasonable—adjusting the volume or changing tracks doesn't require much attention. However, if the material of the rear seats could be softer, it would be better. Sometimes, when I take my family to Genting, sitting for an extended period can feel slightly tiring. As for safety features, the 6 airbags, active braking, and lane change assist are extremely practical for road conditions in Malaysia. Once, in George Town, Penang, a motorcycle suddenly darted out from the side, and the active braking system intervened immediately, helping me avoid an accident. But if it could include lane-keeping assist, it would be even better, especially since driving long distances sometimes makes me a bit drowsy. Overall, this car performs really well in Malaysia, and its value for money is also good. If your budget is around 150,000 MYR and you're looking to buy a safe and stylish SUV, the 3008 is definitely a great choice!
