Xiaomi Auto was established on September 1, 2021, with Lei Jun as its legal representative and a registered capital of 10 billion RMB. On March 30, 2021, Lei announced that Xiaomi Group would establish a wholly-owned subsidiary to be responsible for the intelligent electric vehicle business. On 1 September of the same year, Xiaomi Automobile Co., Ltd. was registered. On November 27, 2021, the Management Committee of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area(BEDA) and Xiaomi formally signed a cooperation agreement, officially announcing that Xiaomi Auto would settle in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BEDA). Its production address is No. 21 Huanjing Road, which is Xiaomi's own factory.
