Xiaomi SU7 enters pre-sale with redesigned interior and 902km range

[PCauto] On January 7, Xiaomi Auto officially unveiled pre-sale details for its new-generation SU7. The vehicle will be offered in three variants—SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max—with pre-sale prices ranging from 229,900 to 309,900 yuan (RM 134,000–180,000 ).

Compared with the current SU7, prices have risen by about 10,000 to 14,000 yuan (RM 5,800–8,200). However, Xiaomi has hinted at potential price adjustments upon the official launch. Deliveries are expected to begin in April 2026.

Subtle Exterior Refinements

The new-generation SU7 largely retains its original proportions and signature design language, with updates primarily focusing on finer details.

The front bumper grille has been reworked, and a new “Capri Blue” paint option has been introduced, lending the car a sportier aesthetic.

The SU7 continues to ride on 20-inch wheels, now featuring staggered tire sizing across all variants—245mm at the front and 265mm at the rear—enhancing rear-axle grip and high-speed stability.

Braking systems have also been upgraded, with four-piston fixed front calipers now standard across all variants. The SU7 Max benefits further from Brembo calipers paired with perforated brake discs.

Interior Redesign Delivers the Most Noticeable Changes

While exterior updates remain subtle, the interior sees the most significant revision in this facelift. A new “Midnight Black” color scheme has been introduced, the steering wheel design now aligns more closely with the YU7, and decorative patterns on the auxiliary dashboard, door panels, and seat stitching have been refreshed.

Soft-touch material coverage has been significantly expanded, while a three-layer wraparound ambient lighting system enhances the cabin’s premium feel compared with the current model.

Upgrades to intelligent driving and safety systems mark a significant shift in the new-generation SU7’s product strategy. LiDAR, previously exclusive to mid- and high-spec variants, is now standard across all models. Additionally, every variant comes equipped with an assisted-driving chip capable of 700 TOPS computing power and Xiaomi’s HAD advanced driver-assistance system.

The number of airbags has increased from seven to nine, while the hot-formed steel body structure’s strength has been raised to 2,200 MPa. New additions include a “built-in roll cage” and a dedicated backup power supply for door locks. Although not immediately visible, these enhancements address growing concerns among EV users regarding passive safety and extreme-condition reliability.

Air suspension and CDC adaptive dampers, previously limited to the SU7 Max, are now available on the Pro variant as well. The system has also been upgraded to a dual-chamber air suspension setup.

Powertrain, Charging Efficiency, and Range Improvements

The new-generation SU7 lineup employs V6s Plus electric motors across all variants. The Standard and Pro models now deliver up to 320 hp, while the SU7 Max produces a combined output of 690 hp.

The Standard and Pro variants have been upgraded from a 400V system to a 752V platform, while the Max now features an 897V architecture. The higher voltage translates to faster charging: under ideal conditions, the SU7 Max can regain up to 670 km of range in just 15 minutes.

Range remains a key highlight of this update:

• SU7 Pro: 902 km (CLTC)
• SU7 Max: 835 km (CLTC)

Notably, the Pro variant surpasses the 900 km threshold for the first time, placing it among the leading mainstream pure-electric sedans on the market.
