The latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class Standard Edition was officially released at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, and the price of the new car was announced, which is 459,200 - 564,000 RMB. The all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Standard Sport version still comes in luxurious (Exclusive) and sports (AMG Line) versions, and the luxury sports version is displayed this time, it adopts a sporty kit and a large standard LOGO design.
As for the appearance, the details of the grille have been redesigned with new energy elements, which is quite similar to the EQ series. At the same time, the LED headlights pay tribute to the previous generation's double round "peanut light", it adopts a wave-like design, and provides a DIGITAL LIGHT option.
Looking from the side, two independent waistlines outline the sportiness of the E-Class, and the balanced body proportions are very eye-catching. In terms of body size, the new car is 4949/1880/1468mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2961mm. The new car is also equipped with a hidden door handle design, and the drag coefficient is reduced to 0.23Cd.
The new car adopts a full-width tail light design to cater to the current aesthetics, and its internal structure adopts a brand-new shape similar to the brand LOGO, which is highly recognizable when lit. In addition, the new car's lower surround exhaust decoration is very rough, it shows a strong sense of sportiness with the diffuser design.
The interior of the new car uses a large-size MBUX Superscreen triple-screen design and a three-spoke steering wheel similar to a "dragonfly" design. It is equipped with the third-generation MBUX smart human-computer interaction system which applies a newly developed compatible layer, and equipped with more third-party car applications to realize a richer content ecosystem, such as TikTok scrolling, gaming, or entering video conferences using the in-car camera. Meanwhile, the new E-Class supports a digital car key, and the owner can open or close the vehicle using only a smartphone.
It is worth mentioning that the MB.OS operating system is expected to be on board, which can fully integrate vehicle functions, including infotainment, intelligent driving assistance, vehicle driving, comfort functions, etc., and can also achieve virtual reality, naked-eye 3D, and other effects. In terms of driving assistance, the new car is equipped with an attention assistance system, an active braking assistance system, an active lane-keeping assistance system, intelligent parking with a reverse image, etc.
In terms of power, the new Mercedes-Benz E-class standard axle version will be equipped with a 2.0T+48V mild hybrid system, and the transmission system is matched with a 9G-TRONIC gearbox. The 0-100km/h acceleration time is 7.5 seconds, the top speed can reach 240km/h, and the official fuel consumption is 6.4-7.3L/100km. The new car is also equipped with an air suspension system (AIRMATIC) with an enhanced version of the adaptive continuously adjustable damping system (ADS+) and an active rear-wheel steering system.
