Brand New Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology Coming Soon: A Larger, Faster, and More Efficient Luxury All-Electric SUV

【PCauto】Following its global debut in September 2025, the Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology is set to arrive soon in Malaysia.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has opened Registration of Interest (ROI) on its official website, indicating that this brand-new all-electric SUV has entered the final pre-launch phase. It fills a key gap in the brand's mid-to-large luxury electric SUV portfolio.

New GLC with EQ Technology: A Key Model in Mercedes-Benz's Electric Focus

It moves away from the "one-bow" streamlined design of earlier EQ models, returning to an SUV silhouette more akin to the combustion-engine GLC. This results in a more grounded design that aligns better with current consumer aesthetics.

The front "Iconic Grille" serves as the visual highlight, composed of 942 illuminating pixels and featuring an illuminated Mercedes-Benz star emblem at its center. Star-shaped elements also adorn both the headlights and taillights, contributing to a more distinctive overall design.

Dimensionally, the GLC with EQ Technology is significantly larger than the preceding EQC, measuring 4,845 mm in length, 1,913 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,972 mm. This translates to a notable increase in interior space, particularly for rear-seat passengers and luggage capacity (570 L, expandable to 1,740 L).

More importantly, it is built on the all-new MB.EA-Medium architecture with an 800V electrical system, enhancing performance, charging efficiency, and energy economy.

Cabin Technology: Another Highlight of the GLC with EQ Technology

The vehicle features a standard or optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that dominates the dashboard. Coupled with the latest MB.OS operating system, it delivers a more natural, intelligent, and adaptive interactive experience.

Optional features also include the Burmester 4D sound system, Sky Control panoramic sunroof, and active ambient lighting that changes with the music, further enhancing the luxurious electric vehicle experience.

Regarding driver-assistance systems, European-market models are equipped with an array of ten cameras, five radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, paired with a high-performance liquid-cooled computer to support future continuous OTA updates.

Although the specifications for the Malaysian market will need to be confirmed upon launch, it is expected to retain most of the core active safety features.

Malaysian Market to Receive GLC 400 4Matic with EQ Technology

Powering the first model slated for the Malaysian market is the GLC 400 4Matic with EQ Technology. It features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing a maximum output of 489 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.3 seconds - a more aggressive performance than many rivals in its class, such as the BMW iX3. A two-speed gearbox on the rear motor further enhances high-speed efficiency.

It is equipped with a 94 kWh NMC battery delivering a maximum WLTP range of 713 km, setting a class benchmark. Leveraging its 800V architecture, the vehicle supports DC fast charging at up to 300-330 kW:

· Approximately 300 km of range can be added in 10 minutes of charging

· A 10%-80% charge takes approximately 22 minutes

For home AC charging, an 11 kW charger is standard, with an optional 22 kW unit available, providing flexible charging options at home or the office.

Anticipated Pricing for GLC with EQ Technology Around RM329,000

In Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz has already updated its lineup of combustion-engine and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) GLC models, such as the latest GLC 200 4Matic (RM329,888) and the GLE 400 e 4Matic (RM498,888).

With the addition of the GLC with EQ Technology, the brand's comprehensive luxury mid-to-large SUV portfolio will now span internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains.

Although the local price has not yet been announced, based on the starting price in the UK right-hand drive market of over £60,000 (approximately RM329,000), it is likely that the starting price in Malaysia will fall within a similar range.

The final configuration and price will determine whether it can compete in the market with rivals like the BMW iX3, Audi Q8 e-tron, and Volvo EX90.

With the Registration of Interest (ROI) now officially open, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology is clearly nearing its arrival in Southeast Asia. Combining luxury, performance, and long range, this next-generation all-electric SUV is poised to be one of the most noteworthy models of 2026.
