At this year's Bangkok Motor Show, there is a new car brand from China called ZEEKR. If you follow the automotive industry closely, you might not find this brand entirely unfamiliar, as it has been on the market in China for several years and has garnered an excellent reputation and reviews. ZEEKR is a high-end new energy brand under the GEELY. Apart from its expensive price tag, the vehicles are known for their excellent driving experience and luxurious feel. However, ZEEKR has not officially entered the Thai market yet. The cars displayed at the show are imported from China and designed with left-hand drive. Nevertheless, the purpose of ZEEKR's participation in the Bangkok Motor Show is quite evident. Before delving into the luxury MPV ZEEKR 009 showcased at the event, let's first get to know the brand.

Currently, in the Chinese market, there are two versions of the ZEEKR 009 available for sale, priced at 500,000 RMB (approximately 2,526,250 Thai Baht) and 588,000 RMB (approximately 2,970,811 Thai Baht) respectively.

The modular headlights of the ZEEKR 009 retain the familial style inherited from Lynk & Co, while daringly breaking new ground. The "Trail of Light," composed of a total of 154 matrix LED light sources forming a dual-vertical-bar daytime running light, boasts strong recognition and can achieve a flowing light-up effect. The actual main headlights are hidden beneath the daytime running lights, seamlessly integrated with the lower grille, maintaining the overall coherence of the front fascia.

The side profile features relatively straight lines that preserve the traditional MPV design language and ensure ample passenger space inside. The electric sliding doors also adopt the integrated door handles typical of traditional MPVs. The upper portion of the body adopts a floating roof design, which blends the square and robust body with a sense of futurism and luxury. Additionally, the 20-inch wheels with a dense spoke design add a touch of presence to the new vehicle.

The rear of the car adopts a through-type tail light design with vertical treatment on both sides, which echoes the front headlight assembly. The "Wings of Light" crystal LED taillights feature a total of 402 LED light sources. In terms of body dimensions, the new car measures 5209/2024/1856 (1867) mm in length, width, and height respectively. The height of 1856mm is when equipped with optional air suspension, while with traditional passive suspension, the height is 1867mm.

Thanks to the SEA vast architecture chassis's extremely high flatness, the ZEEKR 009 has an excellent aerodynamic foundation. Through comprehensive optimization, it has achieved a closed-loop technology and reduced the drag coefficient to as low as 0.27 with multiple core drag reduction technologies and various aerodynamic detail optimizations. The lower drag coefficient significantly affects the vehicle's performance, range, and stability during high-speed driving.

The ZEEKR 009 adopts a ripple-style driver control space design, with a large suspended central control screen and a familiar steering wheel style, which presents a relatively familiar interior layout. In terms of details, the new car eliminates physical buttons on the center console and adjusts the positions of the corresponding air vents. The second-row seats of the ZEEKR 009 feature independent seat designs with colors leaning towards executive style. They also come with footrest functionality, and both the seats and headrests are designed to be more enveloping for enhanced comfort. Interestingly, the second-row seats are also equipped with a hidden table. Additionally, the rear seats of the new car are equipped with a 3.4-inch touchscreen electric sliding door called "SMARTBAR," that allows control of the air conditioning, windows, and rear sunshades.

ZEEKR 009 has over thirty intelligent driving assistance features to realize NZP autonomous navigation assistance, including full-speed range active cruise control (LCC+ACC), door opening warning, capacitive steering wheel hands-off monitoring, remote parking in and out, large vehicle active deviation, rear collision mitigation, automatic lane change warning assistance, overspeed reminder, low-speed reverse emergency braking, traffic light assistance, and more.

In terms of power, the new car is built on the SEA Haohan architecture with all models equipped with dual-motor drive. The peak power reaches 400 kW, and the peak torque is 686 N·m with a battery capacity of 140 kWh. However, the battery capacities differ between models. The long-range version has a battery capacity of 140 kWh, featuring the world's first mass-produced CTP 3.0 Kirin battery. It achieves a CLTC range of 822 km. The short-range model has a battery capacity of 116 kWh, with a CLTC range of 702 km. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes a minimum of 28 minutes.

Additionally, the ZEEKR 009 series comes standard with intelligent four-wheel drive, and is equipped with lightning-switching technology. Furthermore, dTCS intelligent anti-skid system, fully automatic air suspension system, and CCD electromagnetic damping system are also standard across the series.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?

Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?

In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
