【PCauto】BYD is accelerating its expansion into the European market through its premium brand Denza. According to the latest strategic plan, BYD aims to launch four all-new models in Europe by the end of 2025 and establish an independent dealer network to enhance its competitiveness in the high-end electric vehicle market.

The first all-new model is the Denza Z9 GT, which integrates a large amount of BYD's cutting-edge technologies. With a body length approaching 5.2 meters, the Z9 GT not only shows a commanding exterior appearance but also delivers an exceptionally spacious and comfortable cabin space, giving it distinct advantages over competitors in its class.

In terms of the power performance, the Denza Z9 GT electric version is equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack and adopts a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a maximum power output of 710 kW (966 horsepower). It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h. These outstanding performance figures even surpass those of some high-performance models of traditional luxury brands.

The Denza Z9 GT combines the advanced battery technology with a high-efficiency energy recovery system, delivering reliable range while maintaining its robust power output.
In terms of the technology equipment, the Z9 GT adpots 2 lidars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 14 external cameras. The vehicle is powered by NVIDIA's Drive Orin computing platform paired with BYD's DiPilot intelligent driving system, enabling a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance features such as full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic ramp navigation, highway/city automated driving assistance, automatic lane changing, and other cutting-edge autonomous functions.

Additionally, the Denza Z9 GT is equipped with an array of advanced intelligent interactive configurations including 5G connectivity, facial recognition, voiceprint identification, continuous voice zoning, "visible and speakable" controls, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability, complemented by premium entertainment systems such as a 20-speaker audio setup with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology.

The Denza Z9 GT will directly compete with the Porsche Taycan in the European market, . As a famous model in the luxury electric vehicle field, the Porsche Taycan boasts strong brand heritage and loyal consumers.

In terms of product competitiveness, the Denza Z9 GT stands toe-to-toe with the Porsche Taycan. For instance, the Z9 GT surpasses the Taycan in both body length and wheelbase, delivering significantly more spacious cabin space. When it comes to the performance, the Z9 GT's tri-motor system provides substantially greater power and torque output compared to the Taycan, along with quicker 0-100km/h acceleration. Moreover, the Z9 GT's comprehensive suite of standard smart technologies and features is more cost-effective than the Taycan, which requires numerous optional equipment to be added at extra cost.

Europe is the main market of many well-known car brands, while Denza Z9 GT's biggest disadvantage is the lack of brand recognition in the European market. Moreover, as Europe has strict requirements for the quality, safety, and environmental standards of vehicles, Denza is also facing various challenges. How to continuously enhance brand influence and meet the diverse needs of local consumers will be the key to Denza's long-term development in the European market.
