In February, BYD officially released information about the exterior and interior of its new car, the Yuan UP, and plans to launch it in the Chinese market in March.
This cute and affordable small SUV is a new member of the BYD Yuan family. The familiar and strong-selling BYD Atto3 is actually the Yuan PLUS in the Chinese market. From the name, we can tell that the new Yuan UP will be a new member of the Yuan series and its positioning will be lower than that of the Atto3, which means its price will be more affordable, and of course, its size will be smaller.
Regarding the Yuan UP, here are some questions we are interested in:
1. How big is the Yuan UP? Is it pure electric or hybrid?
The dimensions of the Yuan UP are 4310/1830/1675mm (length/width/height), with a wheelbase of 2620mm. This is a pure electric SUV, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, available in two versions with maximum power outputs of 70kW and 130kW.
2. Will the Yuan UP enter the Malaysian market?
Currently, there is no official information about the new car entering the Malaysian market. In fact, this new car currently has no information about being exported overseas. Specific details will need to be further understood after its launch in China in March.
Some basic information about the BYD Yuan UP:
The BYD Yuan UP is designed to be young and fashionable. The front face is characterized by a simple grille complemented by streamlined LED headlights, giving it a modern look. The sleek lines and dynamic contours of the body showcase its youthful vitality. The unique shape of the LED taillights adds a playful touch. Overall, the Yuan UP is cool and cute, perfectly in line with the aesthetic trends of urban youth. I believe when young people see it for the first time, they will be impressed.
The interior continues the design style of the BYD family. For example, the center console is equipped with a flip-up floating center screen and the latest DiLink system. Additionally, it is equipped with a fully digital instrument panel. It also has a crystal gear lever and retains some physical buttons around this area. The roof has a large panoramic sunroof. Of course, it also has DiPilot intelligent navigation and HUD head-up display system. Although the body is small, it is very intelligent.
The surface of the seats has a certain texture design, and the light interior looks very classy. In addition, the front seats support electric adjustment. The rear seating space is spacious and the floor is flat. In addition, the rear seats of the new car will provide USB ports and small storage compartments. The trunk space of the BYD Yuan UP is also outstanding, showing a certain practicality. The rear seats can be folded in a 4/6 ratio.

In terms of power, the BYD Yuan UP is based on the e-platform 3.0 and is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor model TZ200XSW, with maximum power outputs of 70/130kW and peak torque of 180/290N·m respectively. The Yuan UP is equipped with its own lithium iron phosphate battery, with battery capacities of 32kWh and 45.12kWh, corresponding to pure electric cruising ranges of 301 and 401km according to the CLTC standard.
With such a smart, intelligent, and cute small SUV, it is estimated that many young people will like it. In China, the Yuan UP will form a sister combination with the Yuan PLUS, so will the Atto3 also welcome its own sister? Let's look forward to it together!
