【PCauto】As of April 2025, BYD's sales in the UK have surpassed 20,000 units, demonstrating strong growth momentum.
Data shows that it took BYD 19 months to sell its first 10,000 vehicles in the UK, but only 5 months to go from 10,000 to 20,000 units, indicating a significant acceleration in growth.
In March 2025, BYD sold 6,480 units in the UK, a 754% year-on-year increase. First-quarter cumulative sales reached 9,271 units, exceeding the total sales for all of 2024. This growth rate suggests that BYD's brand recognition and market share in the UK are rapidly increasing.

BYD currently offers six models in the UK market: the ATTO 2, SEALION 7, ATTO 3, DOLPHIN, SEAL, and SEAL U DM-i.
Among these models, the ATTO 3 was BYD's first model introduced in the UK, launched in March 2023. In 2024, it sold over 8,700 units, a 658% year-on-year increase, making BYD the fastest-growing automotive brand in the UK.

As an electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD's Blade Battery achieves a range rate of over 85% in the UK's low-temperature conditions (e.g., -5°C) in winter, outperforming many competitors.
Its fast-charging technology is 15 minutes quicker than comparable models, a significant advantage in the UK where public charging infrastructure remains insufficient.
Additionally, some BYD models equipped with the DiPilot 3.0 system offer L2+ autonomous driving capabilities, meeting consumer demand for smart driving features.

Although BYD is growing rapidly in the UK market, it faces intense competition.
In the mass market segment, the Nissan Leaf maintains its position in the entry-level market with a relatively low starting price (around £15,000), while the Volkswagen ID.3 competes in the mid-range market through cost advantages of localized production.
In the premium field, the BMW iX3 focuses on handling performance, the Mercedes-Benz EQC emphasizes luxurious interiors, and the Tesla Model Y highlights its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system as a technological standout - each with its own competitive advantages.
MG, another Chinese brand, is also a key competitor for BYD. With its British heritage, MG has established a solid foundation in the UK automobile market. Its MG4 EV model, sold by announcing its "great value with British styling elements," achieved sales of 32,000 units in 2024, directly competing with BYD.

Fortunately, the UK's new energy vehicle market continues to develop. Data shows that the rate of NEV's penetration into automobile market reached 38% in Q1 2025, with sustained demand growth.
Therefore, BYD plans to establish a battery plant in the UK by 2025 to reduce the battery cost. In 2026, it will launch a right-hand-drive version of the Han EV to enter the executive sedan segment, alongside introducing an "8-year/150,000 km" extended warranty to boost consumer confidence in EV resale value.

Given current growth trends, the goal set by BYD's UK managing director—"becoming the top-selling car brand in the UK within 5 years"—may well be within reach.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
