Not Rolls-Royce Cullinan, But Similar: Meet Zeekr's New Luxury SUV

【PCauto】Zeekr, an electric vehicle brand under Geely, will launch its flagship SUV model, the Zeekr 9X, in the third quarter of this year. This new full-size luxury SUV has drawn consumers’ lots of attention due to its striking resemblance to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan in exterior design. Like the Cullinan, the Zeekr 9X has large dimensions:
Length: 5239mm
Width: 2029mm
Height: 1819mm
Wheelbase: 3169mm
"Land Yacht" Design Philosophy Delivers Luxury Comparable to Cullinan
The Zeekr 9X features an impressive chrome vertical waterfall grille at the front, with precisely calculated pillar spacing that creates a gradient light effect under sunlight. The grille's top section integrates an illuminated three-dimensional emblem, while the split headlights on both sides adopt a symmetrical upper-and-lower layout, with slim daytime running light strips above and main headlight clusters below housing 132 LED lights supporting dynamic courtesy lamp. Four raised ridgelines are extended to the A-pillar in golden ratio proportions, improving the visual effect of its 5.2-meter-long body.

The side profile embodies a "land yacht" concept, with straight roofline and hidden D-pillars creating a floating roof. The 22-inch mirror-polished forged wheels adopt low-drag turbofan styling, and the wheel arches are fitted with matte metal scuff guards. The most distinctive element is the three-dimensional "ZEEKR" badge embedded in the D-pillar, featuring internal backlighting. The doors utilize electric soft-close technology, and the hidden handle decorated with chrome strip will pop out when unlocked.

At the rear, a wraparound taillight assembly comprises 42,242 individual diamond-cut facets, with micro-lenses embedded in each rhombus unit, capable of displaying a three-dimensional flowing light effect at night. The split tailgate design incorporates a lower section with 300kg load capacity, and can temporarily serve as a seat for rest.

While sharing similar silhouette with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, with laser-engraved textures, parametric lighting architecture, and interactive light effect system, Zeekr 9X delivers distinctive combination of technology and luxury.

Interior Features "Time Travel" Design Theme
For its interior, the Zeekr 9X also uses technology to deliver luxury. The cabin's center console is spanned by a single piece of nano-microcrystalline ceramic panel, decorated with star-trail patterns. The front row is equipped with a 28-inch AR-HUD display and a 15.4-inch central touchscreen. The steering wheel incorporates dual-mode recognition (capacitive sensing + infrared monitoring) enabling real-time driver state monitoring. The center console adopts a floating island design, integrating crystal-textured knobs with a wireless fast-charging module for smartphones.

The seats are wrapped in semi-aniline Nappa leather, with a laser-perforated surface forming a wave pattern, while the front seats feature an 18-point pneumatic massage system. The top-tier Glory trim offers a four-seat layout, with rear seats featuring power-adjustable leg rests, heated/cooled cup holders, and a foldable office table. The panoramic glass roof supports 10 levels of light transmission adjustment. The door trim panels are equipped with active noise-canceling speakers, working together with the 23-speaker 7.1.4-channel audio system.
According to supply chain sources, Zeekr 9X’s interior leather is custom-produced by BADER, while the wood trim is crafted from African white ash and undergoes a 72-hour high-temperature stabilization process. Metal components are made from aerospace-grade 6-series aluminum alloy.
Zeekr 9X Will Offer Both PHEV and BEV Powertrain Options
The plug-in hybrid variant combines a 2.0T ultra-hybrid engine (205kW) with multiple electric motors, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 380km. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in approximately 3 seconds and supports 6C ultra-fast charging technology (replenishing 20%-80% battery in just 9 minutes).

The BEV version is built on a 900V high-voltage platform, with front and rear motor outputs of 290kW and 370kW respectively. The chassis system features 48V active electronic anti-roll bars, dual-chamber closed air suspension (with 110mm height adjustment) and dual-valve CCD electromagnetic damping, while its maximum ground clearance of 288mm ensures off-road capability.
The autonomous driving system achieves 1400TOPS computing power through 5 LiDAR units (1 long-range + 4 blind-spot) and dual Thor AI chips, providing solid hardware foundations for L3 autonomous driving technology.

Debut Expected at 2025 Shanghai Auto Show
With reference to the pricing range of MPV model Zeekr 009 (RM288,000-590,000), the Zeekr 9X is expected to debut with a starting price between RM262,000-328,000, while the price of top-tier "Glory Edition" may potentially exceed RM655,000.
