【PCauto】The first mass-produced iCAR V27 has recently rolled off the production line at a factory in China. As the latest midsize and large off-road SUV in the iCAR V series, it inherits the iconic "boxy" design of the iCAR family. It is larger and more technologically advanced than the previous V23, and also introduces an engine system for the first time.
A Design Echoing the Land Rover Defender
The V27’s boxy design evokes rugged off-road vehicles, yet it avoids an overly aggressive aesthetic.
The narrow front grille, combined with the ring-shaped LED light strip and dual panoramic roof, lends the vehicle a robust yet subtly futuristic appearance.

The removable roof rack and hidden electric running boards are practical for both mountain adventures and urban commuting.

The rear design offers two variants: an off-road version with an external spare tyre and a city version with a storage box, catering to different style preferences.

The vehicle’s dimensions are notable: it measures 4909mm in length, while the off-road version, equipped with an external spare tyre, extends to 5055mm. The width is 1976mm, height is 1894mm, and the wheelbase is 2910mm. This appearance and proportion make the V27 look like a Land Rover Defender.

Owing to its tall stature, the V27 provides an interior net height of 1357mm. Coupled with the large windows and dual sunroofs, the cabin feels exceptionally airy and open.

The seats offer six-way adjustment along with three-level ventilation and heating. Higher-grade models also feature split dual-panel sunroofs, enabling seamless switching between transparency and privacy modes.

With up to 50 storage spaces in the cabin, almost all small items can be neatly stowed when travelling with children or the whole family.
The central control screen is 14.6 inches, while the instrument panel measures 10.25 inches, both powered by the Qualcomm 8155 chip. Continuous voice interaction and multi-screen linkage are all available. For off-road enthusiasts, it also has a dedicated interface displaying data such as slope and altitude, making driving feel more professional.

The top variant comes with LiDAR and the Horizon Journey 6P chip, supporting urban and highway NOA, automatic parking, and a transparent chassis view – marking it as a competent intelligent driving package.
The First iCAR with a Range-Extender Powertrain
The V27 is iCAR’s first model to incorporate a range-extender powertrain. The Chery 1.5T engine is designed for the range extender and features dual motor four-wheel drive, with a combined power output of 455PS, enabling a 0–100km/h acceleration time of around 5 seconds. This is notably brisk for an SUV measuring five metres in length.

The battery capacity is 34.3kWh, offering a pure electric range of 200km and a total combined range exceeding 1200km. With a fuel consumption rating of 7.29L/100km, long-distance journeys can be undertaken with confidence.
The chassis adopts front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension, with a ground clearance of 220mm and an approach angle of 23°. Whether on uneven urban roads or light off-road trails, it retains both comfort and composed driveability.

Overall, the iCAR V27 can fully serve as the only family car. It is suitable for daily tasks like picking up and dropping off kids, occasional outings to the suburbs, and even light off-road driving.
The estimated price ranges from 200,000 to 250,000 RMB (approximately 117,000–146,000 MYR).

For current V23 owners, the V27 represents a notable upgrade in size and power, while also extending the lineup from pure electric to range-extender configurations, marking its evolution from a compact to a mid-to-large SUV and broadening the brand’s portfolio.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
