【PCauto】Lexus has recently updated its NX lineup with the official introduction of the new NX 350h Luxury hybrid model in Malaysian market. According to the latest information on the Lexus Malaysia website, the model is priced from RM 395,888.
With the arrival of this new addition, the previously entry-level NX 250 Luxury (previously priced at RM 371,000) has been officially discontinued from the Malaysian market. The NX 350h Luxury now serves as the new entry model for the NX range in Malaysia.
With Hybrid Power as its Core
The NX 350h is powered by a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated inline-4 petrol engine, designated as A25A-FXS. It is paired with two electric motors—one mounted on each axle—forming the E-Four electronic all-wheel-drive system. Power is delivered to the wheels via an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (e-CVT).
The hybrid system delivers a combined maximum output of 243 PS and a peak torque of 239 Nm. Official figures state that the NX 350h can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds, highlighting its responsive and efficient performance.
In terms of fuel economy, Lexus claims a combined consumption rate of just 5.0 litres per 100 km. This marks a significant improvement over the previous NX 250 with a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre engine, which had a 0–100 km/h time of 9.1 seconds. The NX 350h clearly showcases the advantages of hybrid technology in balancing performance and efficiency.

Chassis and Handling Characteristics of the NX 350h
The NX 350h features a chassis setup that combines a front MacPherson strut independent suspension with a rear double-wishbone independent suspension—an arrangement commonly found in vehicles of this segment that prioritizes both handling stability and ride comfort. Drivers can tailor the vehicle’s dynamic response by selecting from three drive modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport, depending on driving conditions and personal preference.
Standard equipment includes 20-inch Dark Gray Metallic alloy wheels paired with 235/50 run-flat tires, offering solid road adaptability and an added layer of safety.
It is worth noting that the NX 350h does not come equipped with the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) system or Performance Dampers found in the higher-spec NX 350 F Sport variant.
Despite boasting a more complex hybrid system, the NX 350h still offers a practical boot capacity of 520 litres. The placement of the battery and related components has been efficiently managed, with no compromise to cargo space.

Key Highlights of the NX 350h Luxury
The NX 350h Luxury comes equipped with adaptive LED headlights featuring automatic leveling and integrated headlamp washers. Signature L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) and front fog lamps integrated into the front bumper enhance both visibility in poor weather and the vehicle’s road presence. Additional highlights include rain-sensing automatic wipers, satin silver roof rails, and black wheel arch moldings—all of which contribute to the vehicle’s practicality while adding a touch of refinement to its exterior design.

The entire NX 350h range comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, an advanced suite of active safety technologies. Key features include the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with full-speed range and Stop & Go functionality, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), providing comprehensive protection and peace of mind for all occupants. On the passive safety front, the vehicle is equipped with seven SRS airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag for enhanced protection in the event of a collision.
A Cabin That Stands Out
The interior remains one of the most appealing aspects of the NX 350h. The Luxury variant features new 3D Cutting Black trim, replacing the Ash Open Pore wood accents found in the outgoing NX 250 Luxury. This new finish lends the cabin a more modern and tech-focused feel. The steering wheel is wrapped in genuine leather for a premium grip and comfort, and it retains paddle shifters for those who occasionally seek a more engaging driving experience.

The most eye-catching feature inside the car is the 14-inch high-resolution touchscreen central display, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, allowing users to seamlessly link their smartphones.
Audio-wise, the NX 350h Luxury comes equipped with a Lexus Premium Audio system featuring 10 speakers, including a dedicated subwoofer. This setup delivers an immersive listening experience that enhances every drive. Additionally, a color Head-Up Display (HUD) projects key driving information directly onto the windshield within the driver’s line of sight, helping maintain focus on the road ahead.

The NX 350h is equipped with 64-color ambient lighting, allowing drivers to personalize the cabin atmosphere to suit different moods or settings. A wireless charging tray with a sliding cover is conveniently located in the center console, offering both practicality and a clean design. The dual-zone automatic climate control system ensures optimal comfort for both front and rear passengers, with dedicated rear air vents enhancing airflow and convenience for those in the back.
A Clear Market Position in Malaysia
In the Malaysian market, the NX 350h Luxury is positioned to compete directly with plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) from German luxury brands, such as the BMW X3 xDrive30e (priced around RM 380,000) and the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e (around RM 400,000).

The pricing of the NX 350h positions it squarely between the now-discontinued NX 250 Luxury (RM 371,000) and the more performance-oriented NX 350 F Sport (RM 390,000). This makes it the new entry-level offering in the Malaysian NX lineup—one that strikes a fine balance between luxury, technology, fuel efficiency, and driving enjoyment. Its key selling points lie in the proven hybrid technology that delivers impressive fuel economy, Lexus’s trademark quiet and comfortable ride, a generous list of standard features, and dependable safety performance.
