[PCauto] Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled the new GLC with EQ Technology in Germany, directly targeting the second-generation BMW iX and preparing to launch an all-electric version of the C-Class to compete with the new BMW i3.
GLC with EQ Technology recently debuted
The GLC with EQ Technology features a 400V electrical architecture and a 94kWh battery pack, offering a range of 443 miles (713 kilometers) and supporting 330kW charging power.
This SUV has a wheelbase of 2,972mm, which is 80mm longer than the petrol version, providing more spacious legroom and headroom. The rear trunk capacity is 570 liters, with an additional front trunk capacity of 128 liters.
The GLC EQ also introduces the Airmatic air suspension system, the same as the S-Class, and features rear-axle steering and intelligent suspension control to enhance comfort and efficiency.

Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles will feature large-sized grilles
In this electrification race, Mercedes-Benz showcased its electric vehicle design direction through a teaser image, the most striking feature being its large front grille design, which is very similar to both the newly launched GLC EQ and the earlier electric MPV concept car grille designs.
This grille can be illuminated by hundreds of small LEDs, giving the vehicle a stronger road presence, but it is expected to spark discussions among traditional brand enthusiasts. This might become one of the defining features of future Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles.

Grille Design Details of the Electric C-Class
In terms of design, the front grille of the Electric C-Class features four illuminated horizontal trim strips, one more than the three strips on the GLC EQ, further enhancing its visual impact.
The vehicle is also equipped with the latest Mercedes-Benz headlights, integrated with star-shaped LED daytime running lights, a design element set to become a hallmark of the brand's future models.
The overall proportions are expected to be similar to the fuel-powered C-Class, indicating that the electric version will be sold as a parallel product line. The rear of the electric version of the C-Class may feature star-shaped LED taillights and a segmented roof spoiler, continuing the design language of the GLC EQ.
What Advanced Technologies Will the Future Electric C-Class Feature?
The Electric C-Class will share the MB.EA platform with the GLC EQ, meaning it may be equipped with the same 94kWh lithium-ion battery pack and 800-volt architecture.
Mercedes-Benz claims that this electric sedan can achieve a driving range of up to 497 miles (800 kilometers) on a single charge, demonstrating outstanding performance in the WLTP test cycle.
In terms of charging performance, the 330kW DC fast charging capability can add approximately 186 miles (300 kilometers) of range in just 10 minutes, significantly reducing charging time.
The details of the power system have not yet been fully disclosed, but multiple rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations are expected to be offered to cater to different market preferences.

The Electric C-Class may draw on technological elements from the GLC EQ, such as offering a 39.1-inch seamless MBUX Hyperscreen or a more simplified Superscreen design, the latter including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 14-inch infotainment display, and 14-inch passenger screen.
Additionally, the Electric C-Class might feature a sophisticated ambient lighting system and even an optional panoramic glass roof to enhance the in-car atmosphere.

Benz and BMW are fiercely competing in the field of electric vehicles
BMW has just unveiled the all-new iX3, as the first mass-produced model on the Neue Klasse platform. Its range also reaches 497 miles (800 kilometers), supporting 400kW fast charging with an 800-volt architecture. The 108kWh usable battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes, while charging for 10 minutes can add 217 miles (350 kilometers) of range.
Like Benz, BMW has also introduced a major revamp in its design language. The BMW iX3 abandons the large kidney grille in favor of illuminated contours and vertical LED headlights. The interior is equipped with a 17.9-inch touchscreen and a 43.3-inch Panoramic Vision projection system, emphasizing a modern minimalist style.
It can be said that Benz and BMW's electric vehicle strategies have entered a new phase. However, inevitably, these automakers are being compelled to discontinue some of their earlier electric models. For instance, rumors have recently surfaced about the discontinuation of the Mercedes-Benz EQE, which was launched only four years ago.
As automakers adjust their strategies faster and faster, more models are expected to be discontinued in the future.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
