[PCauto] Proton officially pushed the Flyme Auto 1.2.0 version OTA update for e.MAS 7 users. The core of this upgrade is the addition of support for Android Auto, offering both wired and wireless connection options. Combined with the previously integrated Apple CarPlay functionality, this achieves complete coverage of both major mobile ecosystems, Apple and Android. This marks a significant improvement in the smart cockpit experience of the e.MAS 7 electric SUV and is also a critical step in Proton's phased software iteration plan.

Since its launch, the e.MAS 7 has evolved from basic functions to gradually including third-party applications, followed by the introduction of Apple CarPlay via OTA in July 2025, and now completing the support for Android Auto. With approximately quarterly software updates, it continuously improves the user experience.

The Flyme Auto 1.2.0 update includes several experience optimizations:
- Improved screen auto-brightness adjustment algorithm for Southeast Asia's intense sunlight conditions
- Optimized the translation accuracy of the Malay language interface
- Enhanced system response speed and Bluetooth connection stability
- Additionally, the personalized "ice cream truck" style sound effect and manual on/off function for low-speed pedestrian warning sound (AVAS) have been retained.

In contrast, the more entry-level e.MAS 5 natively supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay dual connectivity right from its launch. Although it is relatively simple in terms of extended features and ecosystem richness, its core connectivity experience is straightforward and ready-to-use. On the other hand, the Flyme Auto system equipped in e.MAS 7 demonstrates a deeper evolutionary capability.

In the social media community of e.MAS 7 owners, the first batch of users who completed the upgrade gave positive feedback on the connection speed and stability of wireless Android Auto. For users who have not yet received the update push, Proton also provides the option of offline upgrades at authorized service centers. Regarding future update plans, Proton has not disclosed specific plans for 2026, and whether there will be deeper integration with the local voice assistant Aisyah to enable voice control of vehicle hardware has become a focal point for the user community.

Since its official launch in December 2024, the e.MAS 7 has set a record as the fastest electric vehicle to exceed 3,000 units sold (within just 5 months). It has also held the title of the best-selling electric vehicle domestically for 10 consecutive months, with a market share stable at around 24%-25%. Cumulative sales have reached 7,784 units (as of November), of which 6,954 units were for the domestic market and 830 units successfully exported to overseas markets such as Singapore and Nepal.
Moreover, the e.MAS 7 has become the core pillar of Proton's transition to electrification, driving the proportion of electric vehicle sales for the Proton brand up to 6%. With the commissioning of Proton's brand-new electric vehicle factory and the continuous upgrade of the Flyme Auto system, Proton's market competitiveness in the electric vehicle sector will be further strengthened.

The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

BYD discloses four patents for variable flux permanent magnet synchronous motors, addressing the efficiency conflict of motors at high and low speeds in automobiles
Traditional permanent magnet synchronous motors can provide strong torque at low speeds, but on highways, the fixed rotor magnetic flux leads to increased back electromotive force, causing a sharp drop in efficiency. This long-standing contradiction in the industry has now found a new solution with the announcement of BYD's latest technology patent.
