It is believed that the Malaysian market is no stranger to the Chery brand, especially the recent developments have attracted much attention. As one of the earliest Chinese manufacturers to enter the automotive industry, Chery also entered the Malaysian market more than a decade ago, the outcome of which we all know. Will the outcome be the same as last time when they return to Malaysia again this time?

At present, it doesn't seem to be the case, Chery this time is with full sincerity to enter Malaysia, in particular, the performance of Omoda 5 in the Malaysian market has brought considerable competitive pressure to other competitive models such as X50 and HR-V.
The success of Omoda 5 in Malaysia is mainly attributed to the fact that it is locally assembled in the Inokom factory in Kulim, Kedah, and has a lot of configurations at a lower price. Omoda 5 in Malaysia offers two models, the prices are as follows:
Omoda 5 C: RM 108,800
Omoda 5 H: RM 118,800
This price includes the standard 7-year warranty and 5-year free servicing package, providing more protection and convenience for consumers.

Omoda 5 is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can produce 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque, and it can delivery power to the front wheels (FWD) through a CVT automatic transmission with 9 virtual gear positions. Although not the strongest in its class, Chery claims that Omoda 5 may be one of the most efficient models, with a fuel consumption of 6.9 L/100 km.
Appearance Characteristics
The length, width and height of the Chery Omoda 5 are: 4,400/1,830/1585mm, and the wheelbase is 2,630mm. In addition, both cars offer the same exterior package. LED headlights and DRL, LED taillights (not light bars), no roof racks, black 18-inch wheels, which shows a stylish and dynamic style.

Speaking of the wheel, this is the first (and actually the only) visual difference that you can find from the outside. The H model has a red inlay between the black spokes, while the C model does not.
The other differences are made up of "interesting" features. For example, the H model has an "ceremony lighting effect", welcome light and LED turn signal on the outside.

Also, dual-zone air conditioning, wireless smartphone charging, and 64-color ambient lighting are standard features.

All seats are made of synthetic leather material, H model has 6-way power adjustment and ventilation function, providing a more comfortable riding experience, whereas C model does not have these two functions.
The H model is also equipped with a power sunroof and tailgate.
Omoda 5 is also equipped with a complete set of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), including the following functions:
- Lane departure warning (LDW)
- Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
