[PCauto] Subaru and Toyota simultaneously released the BRZ STI Sport Yellow Limited and GR86 RZ Yellow Limited in Japan, each limited to 300 units and sold through a lottery system.
The launch of these two special edition models not only pays tribute to the classic 2015 86 GT "Yellow Limited" but also commemorates the 30th anniversary of "Initial D."

Differences Between the Subaru BRZ Yellow Limited and Toyota GR86 Yellow Limited
Both the Subaru BRZ STI Sport Yellow Limited and Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited feature the iconic Sunrise Yellow paint, a bright yellow color that first appeared on the 2015 86 GT special edition. Its return has sparked heated discussions among car enthusiasts.
While the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 share the same color theme, the two models display distinct brand differentiation in exterior details.

Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited is equipped with 18-inch gunmetal gray wheels paired with red Brembo brake calipers, giving it a more sporty and aggressive visual appeal.

In contrast, the Subaru BRZ STI Sport Yellow Limited opts for 18-inch black wheels matched with gold brake calipers, showcasing a different aesthetic of performance.

It is also worth noting that even though these two models share many core technologies, their tuning philosophies still differ.
The BRZ STI Sport version emphasizes the specialized tuning from Subaru’s performance division, while the GR86 belongs to the Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) series.

Interior Design of Subaru BRZ Yellow Limited and Toyota GR86 Yellow Limited
In terms of interior, both models adopt a black-dominated design scheme, accented with yellow stitching.

The steering wheel, gear shift lever, handbrake lever, and seat stitching all feature striking yellow contrast designs, creating a strong sporty atmosphere.

Notably, each vehicle has exclusive emblems embroidered on the seats and door panels, with the GR86 labeled "Yellow Limited" and the BRZ labeled "Yellow Edition," further emphasizing their limited-edition identity.
Maintaining Original Performance
In terms of mechanical configuration, both models are equipped with a 2.4-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum output of 235hp and peak torque of 250N·m.
Performance upgrades include a Brembo brake system and Sachs shock absorbers, which significantly enhance the vehicle's balance in both track and daily driving scenarios.

The transmission offers two choices, a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, to satisfy different driving preferences.

Sales Are Conducted Through a Lottery System Unique to the Japanese Market.
The lottery period for the Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited is from September 5 to 21, while the lottery period for the Subaru BRZ STI Sport Yellow Limited is extended to October 5.

Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.
