[PCauto] Jaguar recently held a production completion ceremony for the last internal combustion engine model, the F-PACE SVR, at its factory in the UK. This event marks the end of the internal combustion engine era for the nearly century-old British luxury car brand and represents a significant step forward in Jaguar's transition to becoming an all-electric brand.

The Last Gasoline Jaguar F-PACE SVR
The last gasoline Jaguar F-PACE SVR was specially painted with black paint reminiscent of the color used on the legendary E-Type sports car when it was discontinued in the 1960s, paying tribute to the brand's history. At its core is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, with its unique roar being a hallmark of Jaguar's high-performance vehicles.
It is understood that this highly symbolic F-PACE SVR will not be available for sale. According to Jaguar's plans, it will be permanently kept by the brand's heritage trust as an important testament and milestone of the Jaguar internal combustion engine era.

F-PACE Successfully Changed the Brand Image of Jaguar
Before the launch of the F-PACE, Jaguar was mainly perceived as a brand of elegant sedans and sports cars. However, in 2015, SUVs were becoming increasingly popular. Jaguar responded to the trend by launching their first F-PACE, which quickly brought the brand into the new SUV market. More importantly, Jaguar proved the product's appeal to the public with actual sales, making it a crucial pillar of the brand at that time.

The later high-performance version, the F-PACE SVR, further emphasized this sporty image. With its more powerful engine and sharper handling, it attracted users seeking driving pleasure. It can also be said that the success of the F-PACE helped Jaguar accumulate a loyal customer base and provided confidence for the brand as it faced the transition to electrification.
Jaguar's Transition Was Well Prepared
Jaguar's shift to an all-electric brand was not sudden but a gradual process. Prior to this, Jaguar had already reduced the production of fuel-powered models in several global markets and had ceased to accept orders for some sedan models. With the last fuel car rolling off the production line, the related production lines are also set to undergo modifications and upgrades to accommodate the production needs of future electric vehicle models.
According to the plan, Jaguar will launch a new all-electric product lineup, with the first model expected to be a high-performance four-seat GT. It will fully reflect the brand's understanding of luxury, design, and performance in the electric era.

However, the challenges are also obvious. The competition in the electrification track is exceptionally fierce, with Tesla leading the way and numerous traditional luxury brands and new players following closely. How Jaguar can rediscover its unique value in the field of electric vehicles is its biggest challenge.
