Even though the MG Cyberster is already officially on sale in Thailand, it still managed to steal the spotlight at the 2024 Motor Expo.

With its unique design, the MG Cyberster has been a hot topic since its domestic launch, garnering attention on par with the Mazda MX-5 and Porsche 718. What sets it apart is that the MG Cyberster is an all-electric sports car, priced at 2,499,000 THB. It eliminates the need for fuel costs and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The design of the MG Cyberster is inspired by the classic MG MGB, featuring a two-door, two-seat roadster layout with a soft top. It also comes equipped with electric scissors doors that open with a touch button – a perfect blend of cool and cutting-edge.

With its low-slung sports car profile, the MG Cyberster is easy to spot on the streets. Compared to the Mazda MX-5 or Porsche 718, the Cyberster is slightly larger and, of course, heavier.

However, the MG Cyberster packs more power, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds – faster than the Porsche 718 GTS, which uses a 4.0L turbocharged engine.

This all-wheel-drive sports car features a dual-motor setup (one on each axle), delivering 544 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque. The 77 kWh battery provides a range of 503 km (NEDC), and in real-world conditions, it can travel about 400 km on a full charge.

To manage the added weight, the MG Cyberster uses a front brake system with air ducts to help dissipate heat, while also guiding air smoothly over the car’s body to reduce drag.

The interior of the MG Cyberster features an asymmetrical design, with buttons and screens leaning more to the driver's side. It uses the i-SMART intelligent system, powered by an 8155 chip for computational capabilities, and the vehicle has 8 Bose speakers inside.

If the soft-top convertible isn’t your style, you might want to wait for the MG Cyber GTS. Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this July, the MG Cyber GTS takes inspiration from the classic MGB GT, a two-door, four-seat coupe. It will go on sale next year, and 2025 will mark the 60th anniversary of the MGB GT's debut.
