The 2023 Toyota Yaris (NSP151) from UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has been refurbished for a year now, and the one on sale is the 2023 minor facelift. The minor facelift mainly includes some small improvements, not the major facelift launched in the Thai market.

The two models of 2023 Toyota Yaris (NSP151) currently available in Malaysia, compared to the previous ones, the price has increased:

-Yaris 1.5 E – 88,000 MYR (up 5,000 MYR)

Since the first facelift in 2023, the basic J model has been cancelled, and the new price shows that the starting price of Yaris is close to 90,000 MYR. The biggest change in this update is the interior part, where the 7-inch infotainment display is replaced with a 9-inch display, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other changes in the 2023 minor facelift Toyota Yaris include:

- New Optitron dashboard design

- Redesigned black fabric seating

- Standard wireless charger

- Standard forward-driving recorder, supports intelligent mobile phone connection

In addition, the small facelift also introduces a dual-color body choice, limited to red mica metallic color and platinum pearl white combined with black roof.

The shift paddle and leather-wrapped steering wheel are still only available on the 1.5 G model. The additional configuration of the top model includes pre-installed RFID tags and front parking sensors.

The power system remains unchanged, Yaris is still equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 2NR-FE DVVT-i engine (107 horsepower / 140 Nm), matched with a CVT continuously variable transmission.

Safety Features

In other respects, the safety features remain unchanged, both models are equipped with 7 safety airbags and Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) advanced driving assistance system. TSS includes Pre-Crash System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Limited Edition Model Launched in April 2024

In addition to the regular two models, UMWT also launched a limited edition of 600 units of the 2024 Toyota Yaris G Limited in April, with a price of RM 99,600. Differences from the regular mode arel:

- Aerodynamic kit

- G limited LOGO

- Two-tone color matching (black roof, rearview mirror, spoiler) can match all colors

- Stiffer suspension

- Four chassis reinforcement parts

- Intake system

The rest of the car is equipped with the same configuration as the standard Yaris 1.5 G.

After-sales service

Yaris enjoys an unlimited mileage warranty service provided by UMWT for five years. Overall, although the price has increased, Toyota Yaris further improves the driving experience and user convenience while continuing to provide reliability and safety through a series of internal and configuration upgrades. Buyers who want to buy in the B-segment might consider this option.
