VinFast will bring two cars, Wild and VF7, to the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show in 2024

The 45th Bangkok International Motor Show will be held from March 27 to April 7. VinFast will showcase two models: VF Wild and VF7. Therefore, before taking a detailed look at these two models, let's first understand the background of VinFast.

1. Background of VinFast

Starting selling electric vehicles in 2021, VinFast is an automobile manufacturing company under Vietnam's Vingroup Group, which became Vietnam's first electric vehicle brand. It expanded to overseas markets in 2022, which is the first Vietnamese automobile brand to enter overseas markets. VinFast planed to stop producing fuel vehicles at the end of 2022, and fully turned to the production of pure electric cars.

2. VF Wild:

VF Wild is the first pure electric pickup launched by VinFast. The exterior design emphasizes innovation, such as distinct body lines and exaggerated angular design. Although the body looks large, it is defined as a midsize pickup.

The interior is predominantly brown leather, adorned with charcoal grey as the main color tone. The simple and sleek decoration board is mixed, including the terrain patterns on the door and scattered brown spots. A screen mainly dominates the dashboard, and the instrument panel in the cab is thin and located in front of the steering wheel.

However, more information about VinFast's dynamic performance and configuration has not been publicly released on the official website. And we will continue to pay attention to the related dynamics of this car.

3. VF7

1) The Appearance of VF7

VF7 is a compact pure electric SUV of VinFast. Like many electric SUVs, this car also uses a closed front face, but the lines are rather exaggerated. Both the front and rear lines are very aggressive, and the car is equipped with full-width taillights, which is relatively rare for SUVs of the same level. The size of the body is not too large, but it is not too delicate.

2) The Interior of VF7

The interior of VF7 looks pretty good, and the overall interior design atmosphere is also acceptable. For example, a red/black two-tone interior with a brown decorative will not make the entire interior too boring, but the design of the steering wheel and the area under the central control screen seems a bit conventional because of the buttons. Another point worth noting is the wheelbase of this car, which also has a certain competitive advantage at the same level, reaching 2840mm. This may also provide ample legroom for passengers in the rear seats.

3) Configuration of VF7:

The VF7 is divided into ECO and PLUS versions with the main difference in the size of the central control screen. The ECO version comes with a 12.9-inch central control screen, while the PLUS version is 15 inches. Both models are equipped with L2-level driving assistance, including lane-centering control, adaptive cruise control, and emergency lane-keeping assist. Although some safety configurations are quite complete, in the fierce competition of electric vehicles in 2024, they may not necessarily have strong competitiveness.

4) Power System of VF7:

VF7 adopts two sets of power systems. The ECO version with a front-wheel drive single motor can burst out 201 horsepower, with a maximum torque of 310 Newton meters. Equipped with a battery with a capacity of 75.3kWh, the WLTP range can reach 450 kilometers. As for the PLUS all-wheel-drive version with a maximum horsepower of 348, the maximum torque reaches 500 Newton meters, but the battery capacity is also 75.3kWh, only reaching 431km of range.
