PCautoRecently, Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad (TCMH) signed a cooperation agreement with SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGM Wuling), during which the Wuling Bingo was revealed, an upcoming vehicle entering the Malaysian market.

The Wuling Bingo will be assembled at the production base in Kuala Lumpur and will officially hit the market under the name TQ Wuling Bingo.

This model has already been introduced in countries like Indonesia, Thailand, and Nepal, performing exceptionally well in Indonesia's electric vehicle market with over 50% market share, maintaining the top spot for three consecutive years.

Positioned as a five-door all-electric vehicle, the Wuling Bingo measures 3950mm in length, 1708mm in width, and 1580mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2560mm and a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout.

Its overall appearance features smooth, rounded lines, utilizing a retro flowing aesthetic for the cabin, complemented by a two-tone roof, high-gloss water-cut trim, and dynamic water splash-inspired wheel covers, creating a unique visual appeal.

The front fascia features X-type water ripple LED lights, known for their high recognition when illuminated. The streamlined ducktail design at the rear is equipped with X-type ripple LED taillights and a roof spoiler, adding to the vehicle's sporty vibe. The flat roof design not only enhances headroom but also creates smoother body lines.

The interior of the Wuling Bingo adopts a two-tone color scheme, introducing a new caramel brown interior for the 2025 model while retaining the classic walnut brown option.

The cabin boasts a plethora of round geometric designs, accented with high-gloss chrome, shiny paint, and soft leather, exuding a premium feel.

The oval-shaped center console integrates a large screen and an air conditioning panel, featuring dual 10.25-inch floating displays that highlight its technological sophistication. Details like the “water droplet”-shaped air vents along with the “oval” center console and “X”-shaped knobs further enhance the vehicle's refinement.

The upgraded 2025 model also showcases an eye-catching floating island-style double-layer center armrest, with an upper storage section featuring dual cupholders and a dedicated phone slot. The lower storage space not only prevents the front passenger from accidentally pressing the gas and brake pedals but also meets various storage needs, while the gear shifter design enhances operational convenience.

The interior layout is resonable, featuring a seamless design between the driver and passenger seats, along with strategically designed cutouts in the door panels and dashboard, creating 15 storage compartments including phone slots, cupholders, and glove boxes.

The rear seats can fold down in a 50/50 split, achieving a total cargo space of 790 liters when fully folded, offering impressive loading capacity. Additionally, the sunken trunk design creates an “upper and lower” large space layout, making it easy for users to store items.

The Wuling Bingo offers two electric motor options, with maximum powers of 30kW and 50kW, paired with lithium iron phosphate batteries.

The long-range version is equipped with a 31.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a CLTC range of 333 kilometers (approximately 273 kilometers under WLTP standards) and taking about 5.5 hours to charge from 20% to 100% on AC power.

The high-end version has a 37.9kWh battery, with a CLTC range of 410 kilometers (about 336 kilometers under WLTP standards) and a charging time of 6.5 hours on AC.

Both models can achieve a charge from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes using DC charging, catering to various daily commuting and long-distance travel needs.

Similar to BYD, Wuling excels in price competition, particularly in the small vehicle segment. Therefore, we can estimate the price of the Wuling Bingo in Malaysia based on its pricing in Thailand.

In Thailand, the Wuling Bingo offers various configurations, with prices ranging from 459,000 THB to 639,000 THB. Thus, it is expected that the entry-level model of the Wuling Bingo in Malaysia may be priced around RM60,000, while the long-range or high-end versions could be priced between RM80,000 to RM90,000, positioning the Wuling Bingo as a formidable competitor to the BYD Dolphin.
