Xpeng G6 Debuts at Bangkok Auto Show, to be Delivered in the Third Quarter with a Pure Electric Range of 755km

On March 25, 2024, the Bangkok International Motor Show officially kicked off, and the Chinese brand XPeng Motors made its debut with the XPeng G6. This car is positioned as a mid-size pure electric SUV and is built based on the 800V high voltage platform. It offers both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. Under the CLTC condition, the longest pure electric driving range can reach 755km, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100km/h is only 5.9 seconds.

It is known that the car will start delivery in the third quarter, and the pre-sale price range has been announced. The price range of the rear-drive version is from 1.5 million THB - 1.8 million THB. In comparison, the starting price of Tesla Model Y is 1.749 million THB, while the price range of XPeng G6 in the Chinese market is 209,900 - 276,900 RMB (approximately 1.06 million THB - 1.4 million THB).

In terms of appearance, the XPeng G6 adopts a quite personalized and sporty sedan-style body design, and its front and rear through-type headlight design also brings a good sense of technology and recognition. In addition, the new car is also equipped with 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, frameless doors, hidden door handles, electric lift tail wings, and other fashionable designs.

In terms of body size, the length, width, and height of the XPeng G6 are 4753/1920/1650mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2890mm, which is almost the same as the Tesla Model Y.

For the interior, the style is relatively simple. It uses a two-spoke steering wheel, and is equipped with a 10.2-inch LCD meter and a 14.96-inch control screen. It is also equipped with the XPeng Xmart smart car machine system, built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting four-zone voice wake-up, see and speak, 4G network, facial recognition, app store, and other functions.

For intelligent driving, the XPeng G6 version without LIDAR is equipped with the XPILOT driving assistance system, Nvidia Orin-X chip and 29 smart driving sensors, and supports intelligent navigation driving on high-speed sections. The high-spec version is equipped with two LIDARs and two Nvidia Orin-X chips and supports city NGP intelligent navigation assist driving, high-speed NGP intelligent navigation assist driving, VPA-L parking lot memory parking, and other functions.

In terms of the power system, the XPeng G6, based on the 800V high-voltage SiC silicon carbide platform, provides a single-motor two-wheel-drive version and a dual-motor four-wheel-drive version. The maximum power of the two-wheel-drive version of the motor is 218 kilowatts (296 horsepower), peak torque of 440 Nm, and the official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 6.6 seconds and 5.9 seconds respectively. The system combined power of the four-wheel drive version is 358 kilowatts (487 horsepower), the system peak torque is 660 Nm, with the official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 202km/h.

As for the range, XPeng G6 offers a choice of a 66kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and an 87.5kWh lithium ternary battery pack. The pure electric range under CLTC conditions is 580km, 755km, and 700km (four-wheel drive) respectively. In addition, the vehicle comes standard with 3C cells, the peak power of fast charging can reach 280 kilowatts, and can achieve 300km replenishment in the fastest 10 minutes.
