It is reported that Volvo EX30 will land in the Malaysian market on September 25. Before its official launch, we can learn about it from the model previously launched in China, because the Volvo EX30 model was launched in China in May this year. A total of 4 configuration models have been launched, with a price range of RMB 200,800 to 255,800. As the fourth pure electric model under Volvo, Volvo EX30 is built based on the vast platform, positioned as a small and luxury SUV, with single motor rear drive and dual motor four-wheel drive optional. Among them, the four-wheel drive model can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds, and the longest CLTC pure electric driving range is 590km.

Appearance in typical Nordic minimalist styleSmall, flexible and exquisite

In terms of appearance, Volvo EX30 adopts the family-style iconic "Scandinavian design" style. The front face uses a closed-type front grille and the design of "Thor's Hammer" headlights. The interior uses a multi-segment design, which has the same style as Volvo EX90 when it is turned on. It is worth noting that the new car retains the Volvo LOGO of "wearing a seat belt".

The side of the Volvo EX30 has the shadow of Volvo XC40, and the overall principle is adhered to pure, simple, and elegant. Without any complicated and exaggerated decoration, the black and white two-tone color matching and large five-pointed star two-color low wind resistance hub also add a bit of sporty atmosphere. It is worth mentioning that the new car does not use the currently popular hidden door handle design.

The Volvo EX30 rear continues the minimalist design theme, the tail lights continue the "Viking Axe" tail light style, and adopt a split layout. The LED light effects from the grids on both sides of the rear windshield are also ingeniously similar to the Concept Recharge concept car and Volvo EX90.

In terms of the size of the Volvo EX30, the length, width and height are 4233/1838/1555mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2650mm, and it adopts a five-seater layout. It is currently the smallest model in Volvo's lineup.

Simplicity is not simple in the interiorUsing environmentally friendly and healthy materials

In terms of the interior, the Volvo EX30 uses a minimalist design concept. The overall layout is similar to the Volvo EX90, equipped with a 12.3-inch vertical large-size central control screen and a small-size LCD instrument. The hidden air conditioner outlet adopts a hidden design and uses a shifted gear change.

However, due to the use of environmentally friendly recyclable materials, the interior of the Volvo EX30 looks very simple. Its seats, dashboard and door trim are all made of recyclable and renewable materials, including denim, linen and wool blend materials (which also contain about 70% recycled polyester). In addition, adhering to the principle of sustainable optimization design, the new car uses recycled plastics accounting for about 17%, including interior parts, bumpers, etc.; the use of recycled aluminum materials reaches 25%; and the use of recycled steel materials reaches 17%.

In terms of storage space, Volvo EX30 has received good reviews, offering a central hollow storage compartment, the glove box moved to the bottom of the central display screen, and many storage spaces designed on the flat car floor. The bottom has two openable covers for storing private items like personal belongings, and closing the cover can provide concealment and protection. Meanwhile, there is also a sliding storage compartment hidden in the central armrest that can be used to hold two cups or a cellphone. The partition between them can also slide flexibly, and users can choose the items they need to place according to their needs.

In terms of intelligence, the Volvo EX30 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting 5G network, facial recognition, app store, mobile digital key function, dual zone voice recognition wake-up, continuous voice recognition, visible and speakable, CarPlya mobile phone interconnection, mobile APP remote control and OTA upgrade functions.

Ultimate Safety GuaranteeStandard equipped with L2 level assisted driving system + driver awareness system

In terms of active safety, the Volvo EX30 is equipped with an L2 level assisted driving system across the board, and comes standard with a driver perception system, capable of detecting whether the steering wheel is unmanned approximately 800 times per minute with its powerful algorithm-based sensors at the rear. When the driver's attention cannot be focused on driving and support is needed, it can issue timely alerts, providing safety support for the driver at all times and reducing the safety hazards caused by human error. Additionally, the Volvo EX30 is also equipped with a front and rear lateral traffic warning system with braking assist. If a vehicle crosses at a junction in front, the system will activate the braking assist function, alleviating or preventing a collision accident.

On the passive safety side, the Volvo EX30 adopts an ultra-high-strength safety cage body design, in which the cabin, A-pillar, B-pillar, C-Pillar and roof structure are fully reinforced; a safety airbag is installed on the inner side of the driver's seat, which can reduce the damage to the driver's head and limbs in the case of a side collision. As for battery safety, the chassis and the safety-cage body are made of various high-strength steels, which can effectively absorb the impact that may be caused by collision.

Super Power | Super Endurance0 to 100 in 3.6 seconds | 590km Range

In terms of power, the Volvo EX30 offers a single-motor rear-drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive options. The single-motor model has a maximum power of 200 kilowatts, peak torque of 343 newton meters, and an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds. The four-wheel drive model adds a maximum power 115 kilowatt drive motor on this basis, the system integrated power of 315 kilowatts, the system integrated torque of 543 newton meters, the official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 3.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 180km/h. The chassis adopts the conventional form of forward MacPherson and independent suspension in the rear.

In terms of endurance, the Volvo EX30, depending on the configuration, offers a 49 kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery pack, a 66 kilowatt-hour iron lithium battery pack, and a 66 kilowatt-hour ternary lithium battery pack, with CLTC operating pure electric ranges of 410km, 590km and 540km (four-wheel drive) respectively. In addition, the new car supports DC fast charging and AC slow charging. In fast charging mode, SOC 10%-80% only needs 26 minutes. At the same time, users can set the current, maximum capacity and charging start time through the central display screen and application in the car.

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?

Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?

In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
