The 2024 Beijing Auto Show officially opened, and the BYD BAO debuted the recently released Bao 8, which is officially positioned as a "Super Hybrid Hard-line Flagship SUV". It is known that its size is larger than that of the Yangwang U8.
In terms of appearance, it adopts the "Future Starship Aesthetics" design concept. The overall profile is square and sturdy, which shows a strong sense of power and technology. The front face adopts a bite-type structure, which is firm and reliable in docking and locking. And there is a super-large air intake grille named "Energy Shield", the front bumper also incorporates the family elements of the super lock. In addition, the "Starship Wing" headlights and "Energy Propulsion" taillights are very recognizable, and the planetary ring spare tire cover on the rear of the vehicle is a highlight of the rear design.
On the side, Bao 8 adopts the "Starship V-shaped surface", and the imitation metal cutting effect brings a good light and shadow effect. The ratio of the body to the windows is 3:1, which not only brings a wide field of vision but also presents a full volume, full of force.
According to the currently known information, Bao 8 adopts a non-load-bearing chassis structure and a double-wishbone suspension layout. And it is equipped with a Yunnian-P intelligent body control system, which supports 140mm suspension adjustment stroke, 1000mm maximum wading, and 16+N full scene modes including Bao-style U-turning.
In terms of power, Bao 8 may be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 2.0T engine and dual motors, where the maximum power of the engine is 245 horsepower, and the parameters of the electric motor have not yet been revealed. It is estimated that the price of Bao 8 may be around 500,000 RMB, and it may be launched in the second half of 2024.
