2024 Beijing Auto Show: BYD Sea Lion 07 EV

On April 25, the 2024 Beijing Auto Show officially opened, and the Sea Lion 07 EV appeared at the BYD booth. The new car is a midsize pure electric SUV built on BYD's advanced e-platform 3.0 technology. The exterior adopts a fastback design, and the overall style tends to be sporty. The interior continues the BYD "Ocean Aesthetics" design style. While it is simple and luxurious, it pays more attention to the embodiment of functionality.

In terms of appearance, the Sea Lion 07 EV is created by the design team headed by Wolfgang Egger, global design director of BYD. Thanks to the flexibility of BYD e-platform 3.0 and the CTB battery body integration technology, the new car has more perfect body proportions. Specifically, the car uses Haiyue double U floating car lights, coupled with sharp headlights and exaggerated three-section air inlets below, which is full of dynamism. At the same time, two raised lines on the front hood greatly enhance the muscular feel of the vehicle.

On the side of the body, the extended body proportion of the Sea Lion 07 EV gives people a lot of spatial imagination. The beautiful and smooth curve of the roof extends to the rear of the car, with prominent visual effects. At the same time, the rising shoulder line and the simple and forceful double waist line design create a good sporty atmosphere. The dimensions of the new car are 4830/1925/1620mm, and the wheelbase is 2930mm.

At the rear, the richness of straight lines and the dynamic curves intertwine, creating a very strong visual impact. Multiple horizontal lines are seamless with the side waist lines, enhancing the visual width of the body. Also, the popular through-style tail lights are included, enriching the sense of layers.

The Sea Lion 07 EV's interior adopts a wrap-around design and is equipped with a "floating wing" dashboard, an "ocean core" center console, a four-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, and retro-style triangular window etc, bringing consumers a new visual experience of "ocean aesthetics". As for the interior material, over 80% of the total interior area of the Sea Lion 07 EV is soft surface, equipped with a crystal shift lever, and incorporates aluminum craftsmanship. The seats also use wavy quilting and double stitching, and perforations are designed on the cushion and backrest, making seating more comfortable.

Equipped, the Sea Lion 07EV comes with 50W fast charging, 128-color ambient lighting, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, a fragrance system with three scents, a panoramic roof, NFC key, AR-HUD, and other luxury configurations. In addition, the car comes standardly equipped with 11 safety airbags, a direct tire pressure monitoring system, and driver monitoring assistance.

In terms of intelligence, the new car is equipped with an advanced version of the intelligent cockpit - DiLink 100 and the advanced intelligent driving assistance system - DiPilot 100. It also adopts BYD's globally patented paddleshifter starting method. With a simple flick on the steering wheel, the driving aid feature is activated.

As for the propulsion, the Sea Lion 07EV is purely electric driven, which offers a total of 3 power options for two-wheel and four-wheel drives. The maximum power of the two-wheel drive model is 170 kW and 230 kW respectively, and the comprehensive power of the four-wheel drive model is 390 kW. Furthermore, it is known that the Haishi 07 EV will also adopt CTB battery vehicle body integration technology. It is equipped with front double wishbone, rear five-link independent suspension, and comes with Yun Jin-C smart car body damping control system and iTAC smart torque control system.
