The 45th Bangkok Motor Show had a major highlight from the Chinese New Energy brand ZEEKR. Many people may not be familiar with this brand, but they may have heard of the well-known Chinese auto brand GEELY. Yes, ZEEKR is a high-end sub-brand under GEELY. 2024 can be said to be the beginning year of ZEEKR's venture into the Southeast Asian market. Aside from entering the Thai market, they have also made their way into the Philippines, Laos, and Myanmar. At this exhibition, ZEEKR brought the right-hand drive version of ZEEKR X and started pre-sales for ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009 at the motor show, with plans to commence delivery in the third quarter of this year.

Both ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009 are built based on the SEA platform that can accommodate both left-hand drive and right-hand drive models. In terms of design, ZEEKR wants to convey the concept of urban light luxury through designs, avoid monotonous styles and provide urbanites with a more distinct personal image. One can see this aspect in the completely different styling of ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009. ZEEKR also pays great attention to practicality, it strives for a more flexible and varied space layout. Their 4D cloud zero gravity seats are also expected to provide a comfortable driving experience for families.

The comfort is even more evident in ZEEKR 009. It is all standard with a streaming media rearview mirror, passenger seat comfort kit, and double-layer soundproof glass in the third row, which are all practices that want to enhance user comfort.

It is understood that the right-hand drive versions of ZEEKR X and ZEEKR 009 meet both E-NCAP and A-NCAP double five-star safety requirements. Safety has always been a strength of GEELY and ZEEKR, which is likely related to GEELY's early acquisition of VOLVO. In addition, the new car is equipped with a new HMI interaction system, which supports recognition and communication capabilities in Chinese, Thai, and English. It applies a new overseas cabin application ecosystem service, supports local FM radio, HERE map navigation, Spotify/Tiktok/Zoom, and other mainstream applications in the car. It also supports CarPlay & Android Auto car machine interconnection, OTA upgrades, online network services, etc.

ZEEKR's plan in Thailand is to create a 1+N business model, that is, a model of 1 subsidiary and N partners, to provide Thai users with higher-quality intelligent car products.
