【PCauto】The 2025 BYD Atto 2 has just made its debut in Malaysia. This new compact electric SUV, introduced by BYD Sime Motors, is positioned between the smaller Dolphin and the larger Atto 3 in the brand’s lineup.
Malaysia is the first market to launch the right-hand drive version of the Atto 2. At launch, the car is offered in a single Premium trim, priced at RM100,000 on the road without insurance.
BYD Atto 2 Exterior Dimensions
The BYD Atto 2 measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.
It sits between the Dolphin and the Atto 3 in terms of size. While its overall shape is similar to the Atto 3, details like the redesigned front bumper and body-colored side skirts give it a more rugged, crossover-inspired look.

At the back, the Atto 2 features a full-width LED taillight with an "infinity ring" design, similar to what we’ve seen on the Dolphin. In Malaysia, it comes in three exterior colors: Ski White, Harbour Grey, and Breeze Green.

Key rivals of the BYD Atto 2 include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Mercedes-Benz EQA, Mazda MX-30, and its sibling, the BYD Atto 3. With a starting price of RM100,000, it stands out as one of the more affordable options in its class.
BYD Atto 2 Interior Design and Features
The cabin features an all-black layout with eco-friendly leather seats. Both front seats come with ventilation. The driver gets a six-way power adjustment, while the front passenger seat offers four-way adjustment.
Tech is a strong point in the Atto 2. There’s a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice commands. A fully digital 8.8-inch instrument cluster and a 50W wireless charging pad round out the key highlights.

Other convenience features include a multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control with PM2.5 filtration, rear air vents, an NFC digital key, an eight-speaker audio system, and four USB ports (two Type-C and two Type-A). There’s also a built-in karaoke function for some added fun on the road.
One detail unique to the Malaysian model is the gear selector, which is mounted on the steering column.

The BYD Atto 2 Premium comes standard with six airbags. It also features a full suite of active safety systems, including a 360-degree camera with a transparent chassis view, adaptive cruise control with smart follow, intelligent speed limit assist, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, door open warning, driver fatigue detection, traffic sign recognition, and automatic emergency braking.
As for practicality, the Atto 2 offers 400 liters of boot space with the rear seats up. Folding the seats down expands the capacity to as much as 1,340 liters, depending on the source. That’s more than enough for most daily errands or family road trips.

BYD Atto 2 Performance and Range Overview
The Atto 2 Premium packs a front-mounted electric motor delivering 175 horsepower (130 kW) and 290 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, according to official figures.
Powering the car is BYD’s in-house developed 51.13 kWh LFP Blade battery pack. Under the NEDC test cycle, it offers a range of up to 410 kilometers. Using the more realistic WLTP standard, the range drops to around 340 kilometers.
For charging, the Atto 2 supports 7 kW AC slow charging and 82 kW DC fast charging. Using fast charge, the battery can go from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes. The car also features a 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing it to power external devices.

BYD Atto 2 Comes with Comprehensive Warranty and Exclusive Launch Offers
The BYD Atto 2 comes with a six-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first. The battery is covered for eight years or 160,000 kilometers, with a guaranteed health level of at least 70%. The electric drive system also carries an eight-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty.
To celebrate the launch, BYD Sime Motors is offering the first 800 buyers an exclusive "Easy Ownership Package" valued at around RM13,500. This package includes two key benefits:
First, a financial plan that offers zero monthly installments for the first six months, in partnership with Sime Motors’ bank partners.
Second, a charging plan that provides standalone house owners with a complimentary home wall charger, while apartment residents receive 12 months of mobile charging service through the Sime Platinum 4+ package by Power Up.
The package also includes free V2L adapters and Type 2 charging cables.

The 2025 BYD Atto 2 launch brings Malaysian EV buyers a fresh choice positioned between the Dolphin and Atto 3. Priced at RM100,000, it offers a 410 km range (NEDC), plenty of standard features, and exclusive perks for early buyers, making it a standout contender in its segment.

Perodua Myvi and Bezza may undergo major upgrades in 2026
After the update, the Bezza will no longer be just a low-cost alternative but a core model in the Perodua system with greater market competitiveness and brand premium potential. The upgrade of the Myvi is not to be unconventional but to strengthen the brand and market, ensuring that the Myvi continues to maintain its irreplaceable position in the new round of product competition.

Perodua Traz VS Ativa, which one is more worth buying?
Traz, as a newly launched mid-sized SUV, offers more spacious room and mainstream power compared to small SUVs, but its pricing appears slightly higher than that of Ativa. Ativa, on the other hand, is Perodua's long-time best-selling small SUV with more affordable pricing and a balanced combination of power and tech features.

Will the Toyota Yaris Cross come to Malaysia? If it comes, how much will it sell for?
The launch of Perodua Traz indicates that the market size of small SUVs in Malaysia has been expanding in recent years. However, the question naturally shifts back to Toyota. As a brand with the most comprehensive product line and a strong foundation in both the SUV and hybrid sectors, will Toyota choose the Yaris Cross to participate in this small SUV competition?

Perodua Traz VS Toyota Yaris Cross, where does the Traz fall short?
Before the official launch of the Perodua Traz, market expectations were actually very high because it shares the same DNGA platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross. However, sharing the same platform does not equate to the same experience, and the Traz's final performance has indeed been disappointing. Perhaps it is precisely because of the delayed launch that it has almost no competitiveness in the current competitive environment.

Why is the Toyota Sienna so popular with so many people?
In Malaysia, most family MPVs choose Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or Kia Carnival. These models each have their advantages in luxury, space, or brand influence, but models that truly balance large space, multifunctional practicality, fuel efficiency, and reliability are rarely seen.
