On July 21, BYD launched the all-electric MPV named BYD M6 at the 31st GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). It is reported that the M6 model is the first MPV model BYD has launched in the Indonesian market, and also the first all-electric MPV in the local markets. BYD M6 offers three versions: standard 7-seats, premium 7-seats, and premium 6-seats. The price ranges from 379 million to 429 million Indonesian Rupiah (approximately 23,400 to 26,500 US dollars).

The BYD M6 comes standard with 55.4kWh and 71.8kWh BYD blade batteries, with NEDC ranges of 420km and 530km respectively. Under the quick charge of 115kW power, it can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes.
Zhao Ying, general manager of BYD Indonesia, said that the launch of M6 demonstrates BYD's focus on the Indonesian market, and it aims to meet the needs of Indonesian consumers for environmentally friendly mobility solutions. It is worth noting that BYD has not yet launched the M6 in the Chinese market, and the company launched the now-discontinued gas-powered M6 as its first MPV model in July 2010 in China.

BYD entered the Indonesian passenger car market in January this year. It was successively launched models such as Seal, Dolphin and Atto 3, and plans to invest 1.3 billion US dollars to build a factory with a capacity of 150,000 units. Local officials stated on March 20 that BYD will begin producing electric vehicles in Indonesia by 2026. At present, all cars sold by BYD in Indonesia are imported, and it delivered the first batch of 1,000 cars to Indonesia on July 2.
In addition to the BYD M6 model, BYD also launched two new configurations of BYD Dolphins and BYD ATTO 3 on the day of the auto show: BYD Dolphins Dynamic Edition and BYD ATTO 3 Premium Edition. These models are competitively priced and offer more features that provide a more diverse choice for Indonesian consumers.
