The second product of the SeaLion IP series from Chinese car manufacturer BYD, the SeaLion 05 DM-i, is officially launched. The new car has released 4 models, the price range is 112,800 - 142,800 RMB. The new car can be seen as a sister product of BYD SONG Pro DM-i. The new car is positioned as a compact plug-in hybrid SUV, incorporating the design concept of "ocean aesthetics" inside and out, and will carry BYD's fifth-generation DM technology. At present, there are no SeaLion models available in China, but given BYD's rate of global market expansion, there is a very good chance that it will expand to the domestic market.

Appearance: Enhanced by ocean aesthetics

The BYD SeaLion 05 DM-i maintains the "ocean aesthetics" design concept, with a full-bodied contour that exudes strength, and incorporates ocean elements in areas such as lights and wheel rims. On to the specific design details, the front of the car has a wide front grille, and the chrome trims on both sides are arranged in a dot matrix style. The new Hui Haifeng headlamp has a robust and simple shape, paired with a smoked black light cavity, showcasing a deep visual effect. The front of the car also has a streamlined gutter design.

The BYD SeaLion 05 DM-i car side is equipped with a smoked black hidden B\C\D column design, combined with a suspended roof, while the metal decor around the windows adds a stylish sense to the whole car. The new car uses a brand-new five-spoke wheel, which looks very dynamic. In terms of body size, the new car measures 4710/1880/1720mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2712mm.

Interior: Ocean Rhythm Cabin

In terms of interior design, BYD SeaLion 05 DM-i continues the "Ocean Aesthetics" design concept, the surround-style Ocean Rhythm Cabin integrates a variety of ocean elements in combination with the dark interior, creating a calm and stable interior atmosphere. The SeaLion 05DM-i features a floating dashboard, equipped with a full LCD dashboard and a self-adaptive 15.6-inch rotating suspension Pad. It features BYD's DiLink smart networking system, and the board under the screen incorporates a wave pattern.

BYD SeaLion 05 DM-i is equipped with the fifth generation of DM hybrid technology, which is centered on a dedicated 1.5L efficient engine, EHS electric hybrid system, and dedicated power blade battery for plug-in hybrid. The 1.5L naturally aspirated engine has a maximum power of 74kW and a maximum torque of 126N·m. The output motor has a maximum power of 120kW and a maximum torque of 210N·m. Under the CLTC cycle, the pure electric cruising range is 75km and 115km, and the highest combined mileage under full electricity and full oil is 1400km.
