On June 11, Lu Tian, General Manager of BYD Dynasty Network Sales Division, posted the first teaser image of SONG L DM-i on his personal social media account. This car will be sold alongside the current SONG Pro DM-i to form a dual car layout of large and small SONGs. It is known that the new car will be equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM technology. For reference, the price range of BYD SONGPro DM-i Glory Edition is RMB 109,800-159,800.

The teaser image released this time only shows part of the design of the side and rear of the SONG L DM-i. The waistline on the side of the car runs through the front to the rear, creating a strong three-dimensional feel. The silver trim above the window extends to the D-pillar of the car, which is similar to the SONG Pro DM-i. In addition, the new car may adopt a hidden door handle design to further optimize the drag coefficient.

The rear of the car continues to use a through-type tail light design. But the tail light shape is re-designed and incorporates the element of a "Chinese knot", which is similar to QIN L DM-i. Also, BYD's iconic "Build your dream" English Slogan has been replaced by BYD's new logo, and it uses a luminescent design looking more recognizable. In addition, the rear diffuser adopts a two-stage design to enhance the sense of sportiness.

According to the latest spy photos, the front face of SONG L DM-i has been replaced with BYD's latest Dragon Face 2.0 design language. The slender lamp group is connected to the grille, and a large size air vent is installed at the bottom for the internal combustion engine to dissipate heat, forming a distinctive difference with the current SONG Pro DM-i.

In terms of vehicle size, as a reference, the length, width, and height of the SONG Pro DM-i are 4738/1860/1710mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2712mm. Combined with the specific larger size of QIN L than QIN PLUS, it is expected that the vehicle size of SONG L DM-i will be larger.

As for the power, the new vehicle will be equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM-i plug-in hybrid system. This system made its debut on the BYD QIN L and Seal 06, which consists of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The NEDC power consumption is only 2.9L/100km, and the combined range is 2100 kilometers with a full charge and full fuel. The chassis adopts the front McPherson + rear four-link independent suspension form.
